It’s impossible for an officer to know how far the intoxicated person would go. He responded in kind, which is within reason and effective. Rule #1 of an advanced society, don’t assault another person, even if solely because there will be consequences (none are more effective than the self-defense that will follow).
Don't write checks that you can't cash. We expect more of Cops but they get the benefit of the doubt in the end. In this case, don't become belligerent and assault a police officer. Pretty simple.
First of all you want to get her away from the area so her friends don’t get involved. Second trying to handcuff someone on the stairs is not easy. She could have been hurt a lot more on the cement and could have grabbed the railing. All situations are different and handled in a split second. Would I have punched her, no but I’m not going to second guess it. I don’t no what was going on before the video.
The idea that an officer’s life should be in danger before use of force if beyond ridiculous. The moment an officer is assaulted the offender is fully subdued with force. Slap an officer on the street and you’ll be slammed to the ground with one officer’s knee on your head and three others in your back.

Yes, and racism still exists too. Raise the standard and don’t treat women as inferior humans that need protection.
