Female Miami Fan gets TKO'd

Ever had finger nails raked across your eyes?
Potential for serious, long term or permanent damage.
If the cop had asked her to stop, lost an eye then punched her would it have been OK?
As with most of these videos, the prior 15 minutes tells the real story. Had she attacked the officers previously, etc.
I'm sure there are dozens of videos from the stands that can support exoneratation or appropriate punishment for the officer.

but there is never a situation where its ok for an officer to hit someone who is no threat to them. Do you believe this man's life was in danger? No, he's just as guilty of assault as she is, the thing is, he has a responsibility to be better than the dirtbags he's dealing with. I support good police 100%, this guy isn't one of those, he should be made an example of, he makes all good cops look bad. Hell LE should be the most upset at this guy.
No threat to him? Life in danger is not the only metric of harm, and this person clearly was indicating they were not in a rational state and intended harm. It’s impossible for an officer to know how far the intoxicated person would go. He responded in kind, which is within reason and effective. The woman is completely at fault for the situation and if a white male would be the star of Florida Man memes.

Don't write checks that you can't cash. We expect more of Cops but they get the benefit of the doubt in the end. In this case, don't become belligerent and assault a police officer. Pretty simple.

The conversation should start and end here.

First of all you want to get her away from the area so her friends don’t get involved. Second trying to handcuff someone on the stairs is not easy. She could have been hurt a lot more on the cement and could have grabbed the railing. All situations are different and handled in a split second. Would I have punched her, no but I’m not going to second guess it. I don’t no what was going on before the video.

Yes. If this cop did the same thing to that man, it would look bad. Let's be clear, no one deserves this treatment, while restrained, regardless of sex or physical makeup. But when you factor those elements in, it makes this situation look much worse.

If she was restrained he wouldn’t have been punched. So that’s not restrained.

its almost like 4 cops dragging a woman out of the stands might have escalated the situation. If we know 1 thing about cops, they love diffusing situations in a peaceful manner.

No...it doesn't. That suspect should absolutely be charged and found guilty of assault on an officer but there is never a situation where its ok for an officer to hit someone who is no threat to them. The idea that an officer’s life should be in danger before use of force if beyond ridiculous. The moment an officer is assaulted the offender is fully subdued with force. Slap an officer on the street and you’ll be slammed to the ground with one officer’s knee on your head and three others in your back.

It’s 2017, not 1950. Women are now considered equal to men, although I know some men hold on to protectionism and the attitude of superiority it feasts upon.
Not sure this is the hill you want to die on friend. Men are held to different standards when interacting with women than with other men.

Yes, and racism still exists too. Raise the standard and don’t treat women as inferior humans that need protection.

Why didn’t the cop just back away? He could have avoided getting hit and they already had 3 guys holding her. It’s not like they would drop her.
