We don't get alot of coverage of high school basketball in the Detroit papers but here is the result of the second round of the Districts (Romulus had a bye in the first round):

Romulus 62, Belleville 34: Dominique Buckley led a balanced attack for Romulus.

Here also is a link to the top four boys and girls Mr. and Miss Basketball candidates in Michigan: ELITE EIGHT: Meet the best boys and girls basketball players in the state | Freep.com | Detroit Free Press . Dominique sounds like a good get for us.

I would love to see him win it, but id bet dollars to donuts the guy that going to MSU wins it.

Have you seen him play?

Have you seen him play?

No. I do know that his team had only lost two games, one to each of the state championship teams from the last two years. Both pretty close games as well. Hopefully as the tournament progresses, I might get some more information to forward.

I also agree with the comment above that the guy going to Michigan State is likely to win. He has the numbers (playing on the #1 or #2 ranked team) and he is going to college in the state. Dominique has ended up doing well to get in the final four. Note that one of the players that he shut down as a sophmore was the top competition for one of the other candidates.

I cant wait to see him as a Cyclone
Mac, had me sit next to Dominque and his H.S coach last year at the Kansas game, my impression is he is a quality young man, very polite, respectfull, I think ISU got a great young player with a bright future......

And the other guy has some of the most wicked acne this side of the McDonald's drive thru

Acne or not, the dude averages 40 pts. per game and 4 steals a game. And he shoots 97% from the line. I would've taken the acne and those stats in high school.

i like the looks of those guys, Iowa State, Xavier, Michigan State, and Dayton. Those are some solid ball players, glad to get him, now lets get a BIG!

I really like Buckley's assist stat. He doesn't have as many points as the others, but way more assists per game. That tells me he's unselfish and smart.

This made me excited:
He worked with a track coach on his quickness and now has an explosive first step to the basket. He has an excellent feel for the game and is a terrific leader.

Good thing we didn't sign the kid that can shot, the one going to Xavier.

He is from Frankenmouth, which is a population of 5k. As we know, kids that can shot that come from small towns can't translate their games to the Big XII level. Lucky for us that Eikmeyer comes from a town of 25k! Better chance of being Big XII caliber playa.

DBuck shoots a very respectable 85% from the charity stripe also. He and Diante are going to light it up in the future. Holla

When my basketball career is finished, I will: “Be a delicious slice of pepperoni pizza.â€￾

If you were a hotdog would you eat yourself?? I would, I would smother myself in spicy brown mustard. I would be delicious!
