I can't remember what tour but I know 10,000 Maniacs opened for them and I was sitting 2nd row orchestra pit!

It was the Fables of The Reconstruction Tour. I skipped morning classes and waited outside C.Y. Stephens to buy tickets.
I remember getting drunk and seeing The Replacements in The Maintenance Shop. Paul Westerberg got angry and left the stage about 30 minutes into the show

It's a pretty good list. The show was on a couple of weeks ago - fun to watch. I always enjoy the one-hit wonders! :biggrin9gp:

I thought "You're the Best"/Joe Esposito from Karate Kid would make the list. I don't know why, but I think the song and movie are hilarious.

I'm a little disappointed that "Working for the Weekend" wasn't rated higher by VH1.

I can't believe that Corey Hart's "Sunglasses at Night" has not been mentioned yet. And I can't believe that this is my first post.

I think we are all forgetting the great Rick Astley. :rolleyes5cz: "Never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down..."

Haha, the little pasty white boy with the voice of an attractive large man...fantastic stuff!

How about Video Killed the Radio Star by The Buggles, it was a bubbly, silly little song. Fun fact, it was the very first music video played by MTV in 1981, as well as the 1000th video played:laugh8kb:

How about Puttin' On the Ritz by Taco Oskerse? Quite possibly the gayest song ever, but funny....always makes me smile!

Always Something There to Remind Me by Naked Eyes is the definition of 80s as far as I'm concerned, gotta love that synthpop!

I watched all of the episodes of this!! I had to disagree w/a few, but it was so good.

I did enjoy new wave/synthpop quite a bit, I'm almost ashamed to admit. "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell... Good stuff, when you are in the mood to sit through an 8-minute song.

Also - along the same lines as Rick Astley, I've got to admit that I love(d) Hall & Oates. "Maneater" = genius. :)

Flock of Seagulls I Ran so far away was wonderful. The MTV Reunion show had them on last year - too bad MTV does not reunite some of these bands again. It is very inbteresting what the people now do for a living. The only band that has been in perpetual motion has been Rolling Stones and their brown sugar shack. Wil they tour for 50 straight years?

I noticed no one mentioned Waylon Jennings or Alabama country music songs...ouer new staff is from the South so they might be inspired by some renditions before the game.
