Farmageddon

lol

The worst experience I have ever had with an opposing fan was with a K-State fan. However, I met quite a few nice Wildcats at Worlds of Fun to make up for one bad apple. I hope they have some humility based upon their recent lack of football success and we can enjoy being in each others' company.

In reality, this is is my experience well. However, I'm not even sure how I would describe the populace of that board.

How many of you are going to the game? I know I am. So in that case I have some pointers to those of you sitting next to me:

Stand up and show respect for the Flag when the colors are on display. Get off your gosh darn cell phone and put your hand over your heart (or salute). Men should remove their hats. Your full attention should be only towards the flag.

We have men protecting your freedom to sit watch the game and men who died to give you liberty, so please take the minute to thank them.

I will be watching those around me and correcting them, (this is an important topic for me) so if an old man in purple overalls tells you to remove your ballcap, you better do it.

Close your eyes. Imagine a 1st grade classroom...one that is rundown and smells of glue and soiled shorts. Aloof kids are gathered in a circle for show-n-tell. They are a couple months into the semester, yet each insolent child brings the same item every week, with the same excitement they had the first time. Bobby with the Captain Crunch box he made into an ashtray for daddy. Igor with his push-pop volcano fountain. And Pete. Oh, poor Petey. In a jar, a booger he found on the bottom of his desk the first day, of preschool.

That's a synopsis of KSUFans.com.

We played Army last week... I'm pretty sure we have the whole flag etiquette and respect for the military down pat. I mean, we gave them an ovation coming into the stadium.... I guess Iowa is viewed as a progressive state with no class, respect, or patriotism.

Hey guy,

The marijuana thread was last week. Take it easy.

Not trying to be disrespectful, but what does this have to do w/anything in this thread? Our fan base has a history of behaving very respectfully in those kinds of situations. You should have seen the red carpet we rolled out for Army.

Just because one has progressive views doesn't mean they are classless, disrespectful, or hate their country. Just saying.

I'm starting to gather by this guy's posts that he isn't that concerned w/what the actual topic of the thread is, and is just kind of blogging in this thread.

Fail. The state of Kansas has no hills, no trees, and is only considered "scenic" if you enjoy looking at miles of wheat broken up every so often with sunflowers...

You have obviously never been to Manhattan in northeast Kansas, which is quite a bit different than central and western Kansas. It's just as "scenic" (hilly, trees, etc.) if not more so than most parts of Iowa. Iowa has PLENTY of flat, boring land as well. Terrible argument you are trying to make.

Look, I get it that many of us Cyclones are being rubbed the wrong way with this guys jabs and attempts at humor (which are pretty good, BTW). But most people are being too defensive about Ames. Seriously... Campustown is similar or a little worse than Aggieville... ISU tailgating is slightly better than KSU (not by a lot)... Manhattan is a very similar town to Ames... KSU academics are similar to ISU (give or take a bit here and there)... KSU athletics are pretty similar to ISU (they had some better football success, we had some better basketball success). That's about as much truth as you're going to get.

We're pretty much twin schools in different states. Get over it, and have some fun with it!

It was cool when you lent your name to the Stones back in '78...

*Tannoudji* shattered, shattered
*Tannoudji* shattered, shattered

Pride and joy and dirty dreams and still survivin' on the streets and
look at me...

I been shattered *Tannoudji* shattered, shattered,

splattered all over,
Manhattan

Go ahead, bite the Big Apple, don't mind the maggots...

Not going to lie.. Tannoudji posted the same thing on KSUFans.. and someone else called him out first...

I'm just trying to make sure he knows...

So KSU fans are either insane or racist?
While I will not talk about the Flag anymore in this thread, I would like to defend myself from that comment. I have never posted a racist word in my life.

Aside from that Manhattan is a great place to live, if you drop by you should check out Early Edition, my gang and I eat there just about every other morning. They have flapjacks the size of your head there!!

As for the game,

I think KSU will prevail, but for the most part due to the difference we have at the QB position. Carson Coffman is a heady player, who while not as athletic as your QB, he has the smarts and makes good decisions. The rest of the team is about even, assuming that great WR you had a few years back has graduated by now.

Only through page 3 so far but this thread ROCKS!!!

People how can you not laugh at Pete? The dude is hilirious

I've lolled at both some of the posts, and your attempt at spelling "Hilarious".

My giving you a hard time aside, I have to agree, a bit too much of taking things seriously here and there..

Having lived in KC for a summer, I can say the natives have a hell of a time with it, too.

As a resident of KC, I feel pretty safe saying "big city traffic" and "kc" do not belong together in the same sentence.
