F1 2025 Discussion

I had to watch with no sound, how come Antonelli let Norris through?

He didn’t. He hit the gravel and lost a bit of control. I knew right when McLaren didn’t put it was Max’s race unless something happened. I don’t think McLaren realized they would only need to make one more pit stop with the 25 lap restriction. Think they miscalculated or something

McLaren just wants things to be fair, it’s not fair if one driver wins WDC and not the other.

Right. At this point they need to tell Oscar it’s over for him and we need to ensure Lando wins. I could see Lando and Oscar qualifying 1-2 next week and crashing each other on the first turn.

Abu Dhabi sucks as the last track because if Lando just qualifies well and gets through turn 1 clean this thing is pretty much over. It'd take a 3rd meltdown from McLaren in that scenario for Max to win, but who knows, maybe the PTSD from the last 2 weekends just breaks them.

That's far from certain for Lando Norris in a pressure spot lol

There are a million ways this can go, but simplest scenarios

Lando wins the WDC if he finishes Top 3
Max wins with a win and Lando 4th or worse
Oscar wins with a win and Land finishes 6th or worse

So if we're on lap 55 of 58, Max is in first, Oscar second or third, Lando 4th, does Mclaren tell Oscar to let Lando through? If they do does Oscar oblige?

Qualifying will be very interesting, Abu Dhabi isn't Monaco, but it doesn't lend itself to many passing opportunities.

That is my rub against F1. They basically have to play these games of only allowing 25 laps with tires to make it a good race. They need to go to the tracks Passing is basically on one corner and tell them to change some parts of their track. Pitch in some money to help the track owner if needed. They make so much money they could do that. Having one spot on the track where you can pass is crazy. I get monico since it's been around forever. However, the rest of these non passing tracks basically suck and ad nothing to watching an actual race.

The need to drop 3 out of the 6 tire compounds. Run 2 or 3 at every race and make things interesting.

Also when did McLaren hire all the strategists from Ferrari? They lost that race because their pit wall was staffed by Morons yesterday.

But they had so much flexibility! They could lose the race in so many ways.
Yeah they kept telling their drivers that the other teams had lost all flexibility. ummm how. They are still right behind you but now with New tires and can do a one two stop race. You still have to do a two stop and they only have one left. It's was crazy mind confusing. I am an spectator with no race knowledge. However, I could clearly count that the rest only needed to make one more stop. Except for Stroll. Stroll needs like 5 pit stops a race.

I fully expect him to crash and burn just as fast as every other driver that's been pulled up from VCarb or whatever they're calling Toro Rosso these days. 1764690365327.png

Lots of regulation changes next year though, maybe this time will be different!

I agree. I am more excited for next year than I have been in a long time. Just to see if the same teams are at the top or if someone like Williams can come in and get back into the hunt. See if Caddy is way far behind or if they developed the car as well as others. They have two great driver's. I don't think Red bulls second car will be as bad as we have seen with the other driver's. I think Isaac has a real shot at doing some good. Maybe a top 7 or so finish.
