No shocker here. Doohan out. Why Alpine did this is beyond me. Everyone knew in the offseason it was going to happen so why not just go with Franco to start the season

THink that explains why Ollie Oaks left... that whole team is just a MESS. They deserve this, over the way they handled this from the get go.

Hope Doohan lands on his feet, but this Franco contract is only for 5 races too... so WTF are they going to do when Franco kills the budget when he goes flying like he did last year at Williams? Mick? Paul? this is a disaster that could have been avoided...

I have not paid to much attention but did Haas only loan him out to race 5 races? If so what is their plan to do in 5 races? Either try and buy him out with Haas or get someone else? Anyone know?

Franco? or Jack? Jack was in their(Alpine) driver program, so it was a promotion. Franco was part of the Williams program and they released him, but I'm sure there was some financial payment or something there.

You said the Franco contract is only 5 years. I meant Williams also and not Haas. Is Franco only racing for Alpine for 5 races or will he finish out the season?

Supposedly it's only 5 races, and see if his sponsors will foot the bill for the rest of the season.

Interesting watch here. Could be some next level stuff by McLaren.
