Kind of assumed they'd have 1-2 seats flip but looks like 1 for sure now.

Wonder where Sainz ends up in all this now, Perez sounds like he's getting the RB seat again, sounds like Antonelli is getting the Merc seat, McLaren is set, Aston seems set.
Ocon will be done in F1 not because he is a bad driver, he has just shown that he is very unlikeable and can't work with Teammates. Even fired up Yuki plays along even when he don't want to. Ocon just seems to be a POS.

Checo's sponsorship money is probably more valuable than a constructor's championship, in the long run nobody really cares who wins the WCC, it's all about WDC.

Good for him, a little surprised RB went that way but I guess they're happy with the status quo of keeping Max happy and giving him a teammate that's not going to rock the boat.

Maybe they think some consistency might be good with how much drama they've had this season.

I have a feeling Max asked them to keep them so they don't put the next Max type in the car and Max has to compete against a teammate.

Yeah, i do wonder what this means for Lawson, if he'll leave and take a different seat like a Sauber, Alpine, or something like that.

Is manual override basically "Push to Pass" like Indy Cars have? If so that is great compared to DRS
Yeah basically, except it will only be able to be used by a closely trailing car above a certain speed, whereas I think P2P can be used anywhere by anyone up to the limit per race (correct me if I'm wrong on that) or if you're Josef Newgarden. Will make it even more potent that P2P for overtakes since it can't be used to defend.

Should help some because they'll be able to deploy it at any point rather than only at DRS zones, but won't help in places like Monaco where they never get going fast enough, at least as far as I understand it.

Can't fix Monaco. I know it's historic and all of that. It's just a bad race. Good qualifying but bad race

Help out a newb. What does this mean for the actual racing?
I don't think any of us will really know for a while yet, but narrower, shorter and lighter, along with the new electric "P2P" instead of DRS should make for more passing and more actual racing. I imagine that's the hope at least.

It should be better for racing in my opinion. I have been calling for F1 to go to push for pass for every. DRS makes driver's sitting ducks because they suddenly don't have as fast of a car down the straight. Push to Pass makes it so both driver's can use it when they need to. With Indy cars they are only allowed so many seconds of push to pass for each race. So they have to strategically use it. When they are out of it, it become much harder to pass.

This version of P2P won't let the lead driver use it though.

That kind of sucks. Are they going to limit the amount of time they can use it?
Don't think so, but letting the lead driver use it would just make it more difficult to pass. This is just a better DRS system IMO, it's just free extra power rather than just an aerodynamic advantage, every track now gives a different level of advantage under DRS, some tracks DRS is basically useless and others it's almost overpowered.

It does still have to be charged though, so I doubt they can use it on every lap, so that would limit it I'm guessing.
