Exception for Burton?

Probably because he moved closer to home. Doubt Burton will get approved since he moved further from home just like McKay.

Do the right thing here, NCAA!
NCAA response: "LOL you're still ISU, right? DENIED."

How would someone like SDW get a waiver but Kerwin didn't until people took it viral and Burton likely won't after a coaching change and death in the family?

Most succefull hardship waivers involve a sick family member and the student/athlete moving back to be closer and care for the relative.

I *assume* Burton submitted waiver is the opposite argument?
Burton stayed at Marquette through a coaching change in a bad situation to be close to his sick mother who sadly passed. Then he decided he needed to leave Marquette to improve his mental situation. Curious case for sure. I am dubious that the NCAA will grant the hardship waver for such rare situation but, I definitely think it is a valid argument. I would like to see ISU waiver submission to see if that is the actual case though.

Just curious, what would be SDW's convincing reason for getting the waiver?

If he played against the Cawks, that would be nice. We'd beat them by like 30 if he arrived.

@GoodmanESPN: Big news for Murray State and new coach Matt McMahon: Texas transfer Damarcus Croaker got waiver and is eligible for start of the season.

NCAA's decision process:

So what's the story on Croaker 's case being worthy? Can't wait to hear the latest.

Thought I read in one of the threads that ISU doesn't spend the money on the big time lawyers that some other schools do to get these passed. Not sure how valid that is but if this is true maybe we should start a go fund me for ISU lawyer fees for some big time lawyers to pressure the NCAA to passing some waivers for ISU. Seems like waivers are being approved for less of an issue than Burton.

Why does the NCAA hate us? No penalties towards UNC, everyone else gets immediate eligibility, and we have yet to be taken care of once. Is the whole board of voters a bunch of Iowa grads?

So the whole deal were the NCAA said they wouldn't give waivers anymore.... did that just go away?
They are either allowing those that transferred and/or petitioned before the rule change to be grandfathered in, or it just doesn't go into affect until next season. Not sure which it is, but either way it still likely equates to a kick in the nuts for ISU.

The NCAA is like the super hot chick with a terrible personality that u would bone if u could but you have zero chance.

Having a real tuff time trying to construe this metaphor into something cogent
