Good day.

Do you have a particular smell that really brings you back?

Mine is an old high school gym. Charter Oak Ute to be exact. It’s -200 outside and we walk into the gym from a bus ride. The smell is great. We will get beat by 90. The gym smells like the stuff that is books are made of.

The smell when I open my grandpa's old tool box. Brings me back to when we'd work on projects and I'd "help" him fix things for Grandma.

I played in that gym, Schleswig, and Mondamin ones also. Like playing in a stale cracker box.

GF at the time, landlord cut their power at the end of the year at ISU. It was really warm out the last few weeks of school. They had a freezer in the basement with meat in it. I was helping them move out. When I opened the freezer the smell literally knocked me over. The smell of rancid meat is the worst!! Had to take dryer sheets over my face and wear goggles as the smell was that powerful.

Those old tan colored erasures that were kinda crumbly. I don't think they're around anymore but they bring back good childhood memories.

The smell of diesel fuel brings me back.

Spent a couple summers playing with a drum corps international group (I know there's a few of us here that did the same), spending almost every night sleeping on tour buses and stopping at truck stops. So every time I smell diesel it brings me back to the summers of 05-07.

I love the smell of a good meat locker. One that makes ring bologna/sausage/sticks.

We had several big lilac bushes in our backyard when I was a kid so fresh lilac takes me back. Also love the smell of cedar and pine and fresh cut grass.

Hedges put me right on my grandma's porch in June in 2 seconds.

Fresh cut grass makes me think of playing high school football, maybe even preseason/two a days.

Those things were probably toxic in 8 different ways but man it was fun and exciting seeing what everyone was going to come to school dressed as.
