I did read where someone pointed out that we played 4 Division II teams last year. It is true, and the coaches and administration caught a lot of heat from the fan base for doing it.

Did LE explain it to you that teams were afraid to schedule a game at your gym? Some Cyclone fans actually believed that excuse..... and still do.

Why is that so unbelievable? I think thats why we played Ohio St. in Des Moines instead of Hilton. I don't think tOSU would have signed the contract if the game was at Hilton.

I think akclone was referring more to McCarney's off-field activities prior to joining ISU rather than his on-field coaching success after joining. No doubt, though, that McCarney got plenty of "second chances" for his coaching abilities.

Obviously true... We can't get any kind of big team to come here unless it's at a neutral site.
