The new 2012 ESPN top 100 is being released on Wednesday. Do you guys think Niang will make the list? I personally think he will sneak into it after the summer he's had. Thoughts?

When that starts mattering and determines wins and losses, then I will start paying attention. Why is everyone so obsessed with rankings of high school athletes?
Because it's good for the momentum of the program. Highly rated recruits gets the fan base excited...then they buy tickets, they feel better about the program...other recruits think that because another high rated kid is going to ISU that maybe it's good for them as well. You may not care but just about every recruit ISU is going after does.
Look, its not the end of the world if our guys don't get recognized but it is a VERY good thing if they do.
Check out basketball rankings and where teams with the highest ranked kids finish. I bet you will find high ranked kids=wins.
I don't think Niang will sneak in; he may slip in but he won't be sneaking. He will be there because he bulled his way through his competition and made the ESPN guys have to put him there or look stupid. Their choice: put him in or look stupid.
So he won't sneak in but he will slip in? Good to clarify the enormous difference......
Personally I expect him to creep in the top 100, but I'd be very suprised to see him sneak in or slip in.
My guess, based on watching a few games and tape, is that he will drop step his way into the Top 100.
I imagine there will be a headfake involved somewhere-- but no matter what it will be technically sound and done with precise footwork.
