A bit early, but he has 7 BIG 12 teams going to the tourny. LINK.
Kansas
Texas
Kansas State
Missouri
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
Texas A&M
If ISU should beat out one of these schools for the final spot, which school would it be and why? One thing is for sure, it will be very hard!
A $ M recruits very well, and Turgeon is a very good coach- no surprise they win, and will for the extended future. Reed is becoming a home court advantage as well.Kansas State or Texas A&M. Kansas State always plays ISU close and a win or two over K-State could propel us along if a few other wins came along. One of those wins could be against A&M, which I dont quite understand why they are good year-in, year-out as of late, but I dont think they will last that much longer.
Now that Elonu made a stupid decision and entered the draft, I see us winning against A & MA bit early, but he has 7 BIG 12 teams going to the tourny. LINK.

Don't forget Fran Fraschilla. He loves ISU. :yes:Darn I saw this link hoping maybe... just maybe he would have us mentioned somewhere but then I remembered.. Oh its Joe. He hates on us more than Andy Katz and thats hard to do. Joe nor Katz will EVER give us or Brackins any love. The only Mens Basketball analyst you will ever see showing Iowa State any love is Doug Gottlieb. Even though it would be hard to even place Iowa State anywhere in this equation he wouldn't.. even if Iowa State was 17-5 and 5-1 in the Big 12.. we still would get NO love from Joe. Dont know what it is but hey.. we have to earn that respect I guess.

I think we have a chance to catch MU next year. They lose some key players, but do have solid returners plus new recruits. I feel with more ball-handlers and athletes next year, their system will not be as effective against us. Talent wise, they may be the closest to ISU of those 7.
Could also be Ok. State. They lose Eaton and Harris, but do have Anderson plus two other solid starters back. Of course they also have a great recruiting class. Hopefully with the new athletes, ISU will be able to match-up better as with MU.
Regardless, wow, it is going to be tough. ISU could have their best team of the last 9-10 years, and it may not matter. Baylor with their recruiting, and NU with Sadler are no automatic W's. Everyone knows how we struggle at CU. TT has good young players that almost won in Hilton last year- we go there next season. Our non-conference is as tough as it has been in the last decade as well.
DG, Buck, and Colvin need to be ready, and the team as a whole needs to have a little LE boot-camp to toughen up. My biggest McD concern is his ability to get a team to play with that LE/TF toughness.

Gottlieb is honestly my favorite. It seems like whenever the Big 12 is mentioned he says a little something about ISU. Fraschilla is awesome as well. He really loves Brackins.Don't forget Fran Fraschilla. He loves ISU.
So for all of you who write that Lunardi hates ISU, where is your proof? I've always seen him as being rather impartial and not biased towards any team or league. If you're upset about him projecting 8 or 9 Big East teams in the field, it's not his fault the conference is loaded.
