A bit early, but he has 7 BIG 12 teams going to the tourny. LINK.

Kansas
Texas
Kansas State
Missouri
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
Texas A&M

If ISU should beat out one of these schools for the final spot, which school would it be and why? One thing is for sure, it will be very hard!

Kansas State or Texas A&M. Kansas State always plays ISU close and a win or two over K-State could propel us along if a few other wins came along. One of those wins could be against A&M, which I dont quite understand why they are good year-in, year-out as of late, but I dont think they will last that much longer.

A $ M recruits very well, and Turgeon is a very good coach- no surprise they win, and will for the extended future. Reed is becoming a home court advantage as well.
I think we have a chance to catch MU next year. They lose some key players, but do have solid returners plus new recruits. I feel with more ball-handlers and athletes next year, their system will not be as effective against us. Talent wise, they may be the closest to ISU of those 7.
Could also be Ok. State. They lose Eaton and Harris, but do have Anderson plus two other solid starters back. Of course they also have a great recruiting class. Hopefully with the new athletes, ISU will be able to match-up better as with MU.
Regardless, wow, it is going to be tough. ISU could have their best team of the last 9-10 years, and it may not matter. Baylor with their recruiting, and NU with Sadler are no automatic W's. Everyone knows how we struggle at CU. TT has good young players that almost won in Hilton last year- we go there next season. Our non-conference is as tough as it has been in the last decade as well.
DG, Buck, and Colvin need to be ready, and the team as a whole needs to have a little LE boot-camp to toughen up. My biggest McD concern is his ability to get a team to play with that LE/TF toughness.

Darn I saw this link hoping maybe... just maybe he would have us mentioned somewhere but then I remembered.. Oh its Joe. He hates on us more than Andy Katz and thats hard to do. Joe nor Katz will EVER give us or Brackins any love. The only Mens Basketball analyst you will ever see showing Iowa State any love is Doug Gottlieb. Even though it would be hard to even place Iowa State anywhere in this equation he wouldn't.. even if Iowa State was 17-5 and 5-1 in the Big 12.. we still would get NO love from Joe. Dont know what it is but hey.. we have to earn that respect I guess.

Now that Elonu made a stupid decision and entered the draft, I see us winning against A & M

Don't forget Fran Fraschilla. He loves ISU.

Couldn't agree more.

Of all the ESPN basketball analyst, I gotta say Doug Gottlieb is the only one without the east cost bias. Needless to say, he is my favorite.

Gottlieb is honestly my favorite. It seems like whenever the Big 12 is mentioned he says a little something about ISU. Fraschilla is awesome as well. He really loves Brackins.

I can't stand Joe Lunardi. Props to him for finding a career where people will actually pay him to do what he does, but honestly, what an absolute waste of time and money. Also, do you guys really give a **** what Joe Lunardi has to say in his worthless Bracketology predictions in June?

Also, I realize he is accurate and I know more often that not, he gets most of the Final Four right, but he is no expert of the game. He is good at one thing and one thing only, and that is predicting who makes the field and how far they get.

I prefer to stick to the guys who actually know what they're talking about (Bilas, Seth Davis, etc.)

So for all of you who write that Lunardi hates ISU, where is your proof? I've always seen him as being rather impartial and not biased towards any team or league. If you're upset about him projecting 8 or 9 Big East teams in the field, it's not his fault the conference is loaded.

Lunardi doesn't hate ISU lol. Good grief. I can remember Morgan's final season he had us in his bracket halfway through conference season. I don't particular like the guy but he's fair.

ISU's hopes of a tourney bid means they can't slip up a few times in the non-conference against some no-name team like they have recently. If we are even a bubble team those kinds of losses can kill you.

Because I have read a lot of his material. It's more Andy Katz than anyone. Saying Brackins made a huge mistake by sticking around when really he didnt get the big picture. Like I said we've got to earn the respect so lets hope we can do that this year:yes:
