I think people are confused as to what Erin's role (or any sports reporter, for that matter) is supposed to be. She's a sports reporter, not a sports analyst. People who expect in-depth analysis out of any sideline reporter are bound to be disappointed because that's not their job. Their job is to report on the "goings-on" of the game that the pxp and color guy can't cover, such as injury, coaching strategy (or at least what they're willing to reveal) because they're too focused on covering the actual game.
Erin Andrews is a decent enough sports reporter. Anyone that thinks otherwise is probably expecting her to do something that wasn't her job in the first place.
