This guy is going to become the modern Jerome Harper for recruiting rumors.

Agree on the comparison of the hype and rumors of coming here. Although I think Harper had the opportunity to come here and succeed but didn't take care of some things on his end (like his GED), whereas Malou wanted to come here but made the mistake of trusting a con man (like so many people do). I feel bad for Malou but didn't for Harper. I may be misunderstanding each of those situations, however.

I forgot about the murder charge. I also had heard that he never graduated from high school and needed to get his GED to enroll at ISU, but never did. I think I remember that you could play JUCO without a high school degree at the time but needed to get one to obtain your AA, which I heard that he never did.

I knew what you meant and 100% agreed with you, but just wanted to add that I feel sorry for Malou as I think he thought he was doing everything necessary to qualify. What do you guys think: will be go JUCO or end up in Europe? I would like to see him at a JUCO in Iowa and then come in his junior year if he develops.

He would have to get a degree, but I'm pretty sure his HS record wouldn't factor in anymore if he received a degree that was recognized by ISU.

So now Malou is a 2016 JuCo recruit. I like it. He is/was obviously interested in ISU. Now ISU can watch him play better talent than what he saw at ABCD Academy and they can re-evaluate him. Hopefully he becomes a top-tier JuCo talent and he still comes to ISU as a 2016 guy.

We lose a ton that year too, so if Malou can continue to refine his game, the playing time would be available.

I figured it would be like tinsley (juco degree, no hs degree) but I get worried about any slight foreign angle after the Luca deal where a $500 a year player breathed on him. I'm still kind of shocked Tsal is eligible.
