Emmanuel Malou

I think the most we would ever see Hoiberg play is 9. We went 9 deep last year when Bubu returned. 9 guys averaged 10 or more minutes. Year before that we went 9 guys with 10 or more minutes. If Hoiberg had an 8th guy he thought was really good, he'd play him. SDW is still young. Edozie doesn't have the offensive game from the looks of it when out there. Percy doesn't have the defense when out there. If we had another forward like Booker, I think he'd be getting 10-15 minutes a game.

It's going to be like this for years to come. Fred doesn't really want to play 10 guys and besides, there isn't a team out there where everyone plays.

Of course, it's not everyone. But many go 8-9. We go mostly 6-7. KState for example has 1 guy come up lame, another with cramps, and a 'big' in foul trouble. Yet they have enough depth to knock off KU. Don't think they do that without the 9 guys they played. Vice versa, Okie State had an injury to Cobbins and lose Clark. They've struggled ever since. In another game, KU was struggling with Emblid hurt, Tharpe turning the ball over, yet get plenty of bench help to pull out a game. (Scratch that, using KU as an example isn't fair) I agree the players that give you the best chance to win need to be on the floor. Just hope we can get a 'few' more of them, that's all. Foul issues, certain matchup problems, and grinding/fatigueing games put alot of pressure on guys.

Agreed.

Travis Hines had tweeted that Iowa Western's Darian Williams (15) was going to be there again, also the Indian Hills team. Didn't hear about Malou, was he supposed to be there?

They were all there. Ihcc, malou, and Williams

I sat right by those guys. They may have been trying to be super cool, but they didn't clap or get excited or anything, except McKay, he was fired up.

(1) not members of the team.
(2) member of the team

I heard they werent clapping because they were disappointed in cyclone alley.....

We often hear that same thing about many of the recruits when watching the games. I suppose its hard to appear excited or get too invested in the situation when you're ballin it everyday elsewhere. Idk.

Another reason might be because they play in front of such small crowds compared to what they were sitting in that they just sit back and take it all in. On a side note, it was almost the opposite for Clark who rushed the court with students at KState when they knocked off KU on his visit. Which makes me leary that he will have a soft spot for landing with them. But, hey, hopefully he sees a good fit here, sees an offense that suits him perfectly (as he was quoted), notices valuable playing time at the 3 or 4, and he picks the good guys. Sorry, didn't mean to change gears as there is another thread for discussing Marvin. "Starvin for Marvin"!

A few times in this thread it was said he reclassified to 2014, but he might reclassify again to 2015? Isn't there a limit on how many times they can do that?

with so many thread derailments, sometimes it is difficult to pick up which player people are talking about, Malou or Clark?

Unless Fred was just playing dumb on the call-in show, pretty sure Malou grey shirting next year won't happen. He didn't even know what a grey shirt was and said they didn't exist in basketball.

I really hope we take a chance with him. The potential is there. If Fred is really going to be in attendance for Malou's game on Thursday maybe he isn't worried about academics?

I would love to have this kid. I just don't want it to be one of those situations where at the last minute he doesn't make it to campus. Or he makes it to campus and is ineligible half the year while the NCAA investigates it, or even the full year.

"Malou, a 6-foot-9 small forward from Australia, has Div. I offers from Iowa State, Memphis, UNLV, West Virginia and Kansas State."

There's that damn UNLV again.
