Eddie Porter?

Hmmmmmmmmmm.
ESPN is reporting that Porter is NOT a Cyclone yet. Just saw it on the Cyclone MBB social media board recruiting section.
What is going on?

GO CYCLONES:yes:

I would say what Porter says on his twitter is more credible than BSPN.

That may be stretching things a little. OU and UT will always have a tough defense. Our D-line is improving, but still needs a little help. Our LB's will probably be the top group with with safeties a close 2nd, but we still need to replace a lock down corner in LJ. Stokes may or may not be that guy, but I don't see any of the freshman coming in and locking down WR's like LJ has done this year.

While I somewhat agree, what WR's shut down by LJ are still around next year?

Kenny Stills. He is going to be a tough matchup next year. Mike Davis may actually get back into form as well.

I don't remember LJ lining up with Stills like he did Blackmon, as in every play, plus the game was played in 35-40 mph winds. OU stayed underneath for the most part.

I think Stills is good, but he's not a world beater (IMO).

How this relates to Porter, with his speed in the middle, combined with the DL depth we should have, I think we'll finally be able to get sustained pressure on QBs (more opportunities to blitz?). QB pressure can be just as effective against outside routes as a lock down corner.

It'd be nice to have both

Great news. IMO, this solidifies CPR is not going anywhere. If Porter decommitted because of a coach leaving/getting fired, then I am sure CPR told him he is 100% here for the long haul.

I don't think Rhoads is leaving anytime soon but do you really think coaches always tell recruits the complete truth? Suppose Chizz was telling recruits that he only expected to stay until he could get something better? Bet he used something like the famous "firmly entrenched" line.

Isn't Young redshirting this year?

He was hurt correct? If so, he could either use up a RS year if he had one left, or apply for medical hardship. No idea if he did or not, but I would think he could be back next year if he wanted.

I'd say its more up to if the staff wants to keep him. I could see us "moving on" so to speak on Young, Brooks, Howard.

I had that same thought as I was posting. With all of the young guys we're bringing in, it wouldn't surprise me if we had to trim a little of the fat off with the roster this year. Not sure how it actually looks numbers-wise and I suppose it has a lot to do with having a sure thing to be equal or better than those guys. I'm sure CPR wouldn't actually ask them to leave, but he might make it known to them that they would struggle to see the field and let the players decide if they want to come back.

Sorry, I'm lazy and don't want to re-read the thread which is mostly Swarthmore ******** about the offense.

Will Porter join at the semester? Is he 3 yrs? 2 yrs? Thanks.
