Dracula - New Netflix series

Season one has three episodes, each about one and a half hours.

episode one is fantastic.
That is all.

Is it derived from the novel or just a general vampire story?

I guess I'm a sucker for the entire spectrum since I've read Stoker three times yet also watched pretty much every vampire series or movie, even twilight and true blood.

I'm really fascinated since it's created by Steven Moffatt and Mark Gattiss. They previously developed Sherlock.

Moffatt also developed a series called Jekyll, which was a modern take on Jekyll/Hyde. I know it was available on Netflix a few years ago. That series was OK - nowhere near as good as Sherlock.

I read that it was based off of the novel, but stopped there because I didn't want to spoil it for myself.

Because of this thread, we will be watching.

Watched it all a couple days ago. Really enjoyed it. Thought the actress and character for Van Helsing was fantastic.
