Douglas in trouble again

Ok... Both schools have had their problems. Mike Taylor is no longer with ISU... Whats DD's status. Still suspended, but waiting for the legal side to work itself out. While one person has a public urination and is kicked off the team within a day. What isn't making sense here??

That is just sad. So, can I get a "disabled parking permit", if my "disability" is "stealing stuff?"

And the dude that tries to "scientifically" state the there is no such thing as "universal sense of right or wrong", all I can say, is, someone has been in college a little bit too long:confused::wacko:

Yeah... The post didn't make any sense. Must be one of Kirk's advisors for disciniplary actions..

Seriously, how can you feel sorry for him. Just like I still don't feel sorry for Berryman and his troubles. They knew what they were doing. Completely sad.

Re: From Hawkeyenation thread started by Jon Miller

DD probably knew that and would have transferred to a school with a lesser expectations. NCAA should ban ALL athletes after they have been charged with a felony.

But see, if they did that, they wouldn't be able to have a program at Iowa, Ohio St, Michigan, Florida St, Miami, USC, UCLA, and the entire SEC conference! :biglaugh:

It would appear, after readin another one of your posts, that you aren't actually able to argue, but rather resort to "Hey, it's true because I say it's true" tactics. I do believe you missed my point entirely, so I'll wait for a response that actually argues with what I said, rather than reiterate your first post.

It would be something to see if you did eventually have a point.

In your first post, you want me and others to see EIU fans as simply other fans and as Iowans, not as "a separate species or different kind of person". My response, was to logically point out that it is not a question of species, but a lack of respect that permeates the EIU fans' culture. I made this point in both posts, which you apparently did not read. Or, does your lack of education prevent you from understanding well constructed and reasoned arguments?

Now, the real point that all readers should glean from this is that civility is not something that should be expected from an EIU fan. Apparently, logic and reasoning are also in question.

The fact is that most people reading this board would not have a second thought about you or your posts if you disappeared tomorrow. You want to come here and join in some discussion in the false belief that you are somehow defending your "brethren". You're not helping your "cause". You don't read your own posts, you don't think about your response, and you show very little respect for others.

It is also a fact that EIU fans are disliked by far more than just ISU fans. It is because one cannot use logic with you or expect to be treated with respect. These negative attributes exist far more in the EIU fan culture than in any other.

You obviously cannot engage in a serious, logic-based discussion. If you want to simply call names or make false accusations, go back to the EIU board.

Congrats not only for one of the worst posts, but one of the most hypocritical posts.

You claim you are using "logic and reason" and that Iowa fans are hated by far more fan bases than just ISU fans.

Here's the thing. Your "logic" is that Iowa fans are disrespectful and can't be civil. But, that is an observation based off of your personal experiences. That's fine. But to actually sit there, and actually say that Iowa fans are a different fan base than others, is extremely uneducated, and a poor argument. In fact, you can't back up your "logic" with facts, but rather "Hey, you don't understand what I'm saying, so you and your fan base can't use logic as well!"

Alright, so you aren't making the point that Iowa fans are a different species, but rather a culture. Since when is a fan base a "culture"? What, is being a fan of a team a religion? Die-hards love their team, but that doesn't set them apart from any other die-hard that loves another team. The thing that sets them apart is school colors, and the team that they are cheering for. Traditions come with the school, but that is hardly a difference in culture.

You also bring up the point that other fan bases hate Iowa fans just as much as ISU fans do. Based on what? Based on message board posts? Based on random people you speak with on the street? What, you go around at tailgates and ask fans of other teams what they think about Iowa fans? I find it really hard to believe that the subject of Iowa fans comes up very often with the few people you speak with in person, and even if it does, their opinions are hardly a valid "fact" that Iowa fans are indeed hated by most other fan bases.

Now, if you go conduct a "scientific study" (which is an impossible task according to posters on this board who would agree that the "study" claiming Iowa fans are some of the best in the nation), and can prove that Iowa fans are hated by many other fan bases, and that the "Iowa fan culture" is indeed different than other fan bases, I'll concede my point. But, until then, you have nothing but your personal experiences, your opinion, and a handful of people saying things on message boards to base your posts on.

So, no more treating your opinions like facts, and stop trying to pass me off as the person who doesn't know what I'm talking about.

The better you are, the more you get away with.
