Nobody really knows until Pieta gets on campus but I really doubt a 20 y/o would leave a pro team in Europe without the expectations he'll be a immediate contributor.
Staff isn't taking a flyer to fill a scholarship right now and Pieta is moving to a new country to sit and develop.
Was curious so I looked at his team stats. Avg 2min a game :/

That's the BBL and the highest pro ball in Germany. For his Pro B team he was averaging 29 mpg, 19 ppg and 9 rpg.
Yeah, I'm not saying he won't be productive here. I was responding to a post asking why he would leave a pro team to come here and not start at 20 years old. Playing high level D1 is on par with what he is doing in Germany.

My mistake! I do agree although I think high D1 is better than that league.

I think he has that Rob Jones lateral guarding ability. I think he can help us revert back to our trapping and switching on the perimeter we dominated with using BRE and Ward. Jackson and Chatfield just aren't those kind of 5's for us this year.

Knowing nothing about quality of competition he is playing against here... Looks like an good 4/small 5.

Michael Jacobson meets Jaz Kunc vibes
He’s said in interviews before he models his game after Kevin Durant. I’m not sure I see that comparison, but this young man is skilled, especially for a 6’9 fella

Batemon is the only one of the 5 I'd bank on hitting many jumpers, at least early. I do think he's an extremely high level bucket getter and shooter though, so at least the 1 is a really really good one.

Moore, Toure, Pleta, and Mitchell all having "developing" shots is gonna be interesting but the mix of toughness, athleticism, and willingness to get after it defensively is a formula we know fairly well. Hoping one or two of those guys can add it to their game a bit more though.
Toure's athleticism is exceptional and with his reported defensive skills, he may get some PT. A lot of competition among the young guards, even more if a guard transfer joins the team. It's always fun watching young players develop.

The discussion has been about next year. Not many had confidence in Matt Thomas or Naz early on either.
We'll see.
Exactly!! No one can know how much improvement a player will make from year-to-year and correctly gave Naz as a prime example.
