Dom Nelson - The Defibrillator

Dom is a great spark, he can get to the lane pretty much at will and that’s important to get the defense to sag into the lane. I’d love to see a litttle more of him and Batemon tbh especiallh as season goes on to keep our starters fresh

The Doms are currently combining for 10.0 points per game on 60% shooting.

DOMS in exercise science stands for Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness, seems like a good nickname for our guy. He's kicking your ass but you may not know it until later.

There are other meanings of DOMs as well that may fit.

It's an easy conclusion to jump to. It easy to think I am arguing that the offense is better with The Defibrillator on the court. Even TJ in his post game only brought up the times when Owa State went on a run with him on the court. The coaches haven't yet realized what they have.
I think TJ knows what he has in the defib... but he's holding his cards close to his vest with him. It's 2 fold....it'll breed something in Nelson to play smart and within his means by playing good for 5 minutes and then that's all the time he gets.

I also think TJ learned from Gilbert last year that attacking to hoop only works for so long before teams learn to make you ineffective. It's a long season and we have to play some teams twice. I'd look for Nelson to get more run in those 2nd games as long as he's making things go his way.

Everyone knows what happens when you defib a healthy person. You only defib when they are about to crash.

What are some physical metrics for CBB? Vertical jump, 30 yard dash? shuttle time? reach?
The NBA draft has a combine:

There's a 185 bench press for reps, I recall it being big news when KD couldn't do any reps (he turned out okay in the end).

And the streak ends. Offense was DOA.

Maybe there is a big going through the lockeroom? Going to see how the team reacts when racing some severe basketball adversity.

I've tried to stay away from the message board for basketball, hoping that this slump is a blimp on the radar. Its hard to have but maybe this update can generate a laugh or two.

The defibrillator could not rejuvenate the Cyclone offense at Kansas, but it was probably used too late and not often enough. Sometimes one jolt doesn't cut it and it certainly did not at Kansas.

At Cincinnati, though, the Defibrillator did help the offense as expected. Prior to The Defibrillator's appearance in the first half, the offense was on a 56 point pace. Afterwords, it was scoring at a 74 point pace. The second jolt of the defibrillator in the first half led to a 100 point pace and may have carried over to the 2nd half, but wore off four minutes in. After the first 4 minutes (a 110 point pace), the Cyclone offense scored 3 points in 5.5 minutes. Even with the first four minutes included, they were only scoring at a 49 point pace. After the defibrillator entered the game, the offense scored at a 95 point pace.

Here's to hoping the team gets out of its funk Tuesday night.

He’s gotta be hurt, right? Theres no reason for him to completely be out of the rotation.

He would have been worth some spot minutes to see if he can spark something. If he’s THAT bad then that’s one hell of a transfer miss on TJ and that basically never happens.
IDK. He was a pretty late get, and the fans were throwing money at not necessarily him but the effort to get him.
