With our entire lineup available we are 20-1 I think? I voted yes especially at home

Agree. Our rotations defensively have been poor all year compared to last. Fear that BYU will pick that apart and get wide open threes if we are not more selective with where/when/who we trap.

I think that trapping at all vs byu would be the absolute dumbest thing we could do. Not that TJ won’t be stubborn enough to try it. They have a ton of shooters and are really good at swinging the ball around and with skip passes. To me, trapping would be the easiest way to lose the game.

When we had four games remaining (at OSU, AZ, BYU, KSU) as long as we went 2-2 with BYU one of those wins we are guaranteed a double bye. We got one last night and still holds true we have to beat BYU or it won't even matter if we beat KSU. Very very likely regardless if we are the 4 seed of 5 seed in KC we'd be playing BYU again (barring a loss on Wednesday in KC).
Oooh, I like this scenario MUCH better. We win out and KS does us a solid by knocking off Zona on senior night. We move up to #3 seed which gets us KU instead of BYU.

Trapping is in the arsenal of defensive schemes TJ has used and will use against BYU. However, they're not going to just come out a trap every possession. As this season has progressed, it's been used much more selectively. Yes, it can result in open looks, but also in TOs and runout. And it can get the opponent sped up.

I voted yes. I’m happy that BYU is playing at their best, but winning at Hilton against a full strength ISU is a tall task.

They would have to be 100% locked in from three, and that is hard to do game after game.

As an aside, I think BYU and ISU need to be each other’s main rival outside of Iowa and Utah respectively. Mostly because with Hilton Colosseum vs the Marriott Center it’s too good of a fit to not be.

This game obviously doesn't mean ISU still can't put together a March run but it does have 'can they be overall sharp two games in a row?' vibes imo.

Are we pretty much locked into either the 4 or 5 seed against BYU in KC? It seems a rematch in a week is inevitable, it's just a matter of who gets to play a team like UCF or Arizona St first.
