My latest home improvement project is putting a bathroom in my son's basement. I had a plumber bust up the concrete and lay the new drain lines for the shower and sink. We picked a heck of a time to do this.
The plumber finished installing the drain lines at the end of the day and when we returned the next morning to pour the new concrete, the trenches were completely filled with water. We sucked all of the water out of the trenches, but they filled up completely again in about a half hour.
We've received so much rain in central Iowa that the ground is saturated pretty far down. Fortunately for us, the water stopped just before it reached floor level.
