What have we learned in this thread?

A loss to Oregon today would go down as our worse loss of the season according to CFP rankings.

Oregon will blow us out because of the massive tallent gap. Ignoring the fact ISU has already played and beat two teams with higher tallent rankings than UO and ISU has four All Americans on the team compared to UO's one. We are doomed and should not even bother to show up for the game.

Oregon fans already have their excuses lined up. Young team, Best players sat out the season, injuries to key players, we didn't play enough games this season. I'm sure i missed some.

Oregon is an AAU university but has the second smallest research money of all AAU Universities. All eight Big XII public universities have larger research budgets than UO. Even the University of North Dakota has a larger research budget.

Oregon's biggest claims to fame are Animal House was filmed there, Uncle Phil spends a lot of shoe money on them, they were originally called webfeet and their state just legalized a bunch of hard core drugs.

Welp, that about covers it.

Well, just starting to get interesting again, ha.

But it's Game Time!!!

Nice talking with you Ducks. Talk after game?

Go Cyclones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did Cristobal get the Digi-Duck his job at UPS? Repping "What can brown do for you?" REAL HARD on that UO sideline

This is exactly what Oregon fans used to say, and we even had the occasional 5-star and a handful of 4-star recruits every year. “Our three stars with the scouting and development of our coaches is just as good.” The we became consistent contenders and realized that wasn’t true.

Studies have shown the correlation. That is not up for debate. It doesn’t mean subpar recruiting teams can’t be successful, but as far as consistency only Wisconsin has bucked the trend. We see USC out recruit us all the time, and then beat them. Texas underachieves all the time. Those are the exceptions. Those schools have also won national titles in the last 20 years.

Cyclone fans don’t have to believe us, but if you want to compete even for conference championships on a regular basis you have to improve your recruiting significantly. Look at the last 10 years of Big-12 W-L records and then put their average recruiting rankings next to them. I bet there isn’t much deviation.

Here are the P-5 teams that won over 100 games in the previous decade: Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, LSU, Oregon, Wisconsin, Georgia. Other than Wisconsin all of those have been recruiting powerhouses.

Here are all the programs that have won a playoff game: Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, LSU, Clemson, Oregon. Here are the current recruiting rankings: 1 Alabama, 2 Ohio State, 3 Georgia, 4 LSU, 5 Clemson, 6 Oregon.
Yeah - there is absolutely no doubting that you are correct. I am just hoping ISU can start getting more than one or two 4* players, and still keep the effort/culture.

Well that didn't go at all like it was supposed to.

First off, congrats to the Iowa State Cyclones. Convincing beatdown, no excuses. You have a great team, a great win, and I hope you guys raise some hell in the B12 next year because I'll be rooting for you.

The run game, especially the run blocking, is excellent. Your o-line also did a great job giving Purdy time to do what he does. Purdy also played really well - he was just a wizard converting that third and long. As predicted by Cyclone fans the D gets better in the second half.

Well done Iowa State.

Shoutout to the mods too for having a great site where opponent fans can be a little rowdy. That's rare anymore. Had a blast on here.

It's crow for dinner for me tonight. Time to fire up the barbie.

Go ISU!

Nice win for our Clones but wow Oregon's execution/level of play today was...not good.
