This hasn't made it past page 20 in hours. I am disappointed.
Eh, I think there is a little constipation because we're trying to smoosh a month's worth of conversation into just two weeks. Normally there is a full week for the teams to congratulate and get to know each other before the stat dorks take over and spend the next couple weeks analyzing line weights, schemes, 40 times, and individual matchups. This year Oregon only played half a season (credit to the B12 for better leadership) so even the metrics to argue about aren't very reliable.

I kinda feel for the Cyclone fans. They finally check the NY6 box and then sort of miss out on the full fan pregame experience on account of the coof coof.

I love this site and have had a great time so far with ISU fans. To compare it with the Oregon timeline they are sort of where Bellotti took the Ducks to the Fiesta in 2002 against Colorado. They knock of Oregon and they really get on the map.

But I'll watch the Fiesta this year not really having a deep understanding of the opponent or having the luxury of being able to root together with the opponent's fans for or against some lesser bowl leading up to the big game.

I'm just happy that the Ducks are playing another game.

BTW, your first name isn't Rob is it?

I would agree with this. I'm sure plenty of Oregon fans will disagree with me, and that's fine, but in my opinion winning this game is much more important for Iowa State than it is for Oregon. I get Oregon is trying to spring into next season with momentum by winning this game; it's kind of the same for us as well, but we're also trying to shed ourselves of a putrid history. For all of my adult life, I have only known Oregon to be a power. No one is surprised when they win the Pac 12 or a Rose bowl. For us, we are one of the worst programs in college football history and are reminded of it on a daily basis by Iowa fans. To say winning a NY6 bowl at Iowa State is a huge accomplishment is an understatement - we only have 4 bowl wins in our history (yes, you read that right). Campbell has shown us it is possible to win here, which I'm not sure was possible before he was hired. If we win the Fiesta bowl, this will be my mood:

Sorry for the novel. Just trying to explain how big this is for us.

This. If clock goes to zeros and we have the lead, this literally will be me

Don’t ever compare Oregon to a fringe G5 team like WVU also football games before 2000 aren’t worth jack **** so I don’t care what WVU did before HD TV and chip Kelly reinventing college football
You lost me on this comment.

What was chip Kelly doing that the Big 12 wasn't doing a decade before he coached at Oregon?

Its been a while since I've watched those Oregon teams, but I think Kelly had incorporated the run game a lot more than what Leach was doing at Tech or Gundy at Oklahoma State.

I also think making like every single possession a 2 minute drill may have been a Chip Kelly thing.

Really excited to see what the clones can do against a good team from another conference. Bowl season is a great mystery this year with no or very few preseason games no one really knows how good a conference is.

2000 Oklahoma won a national championship with a run heavy version of the spread offense.

This is easily our best bowl by a long shot. This would be a huge win for us, and you aren't going to insult us and throw shade to make us feel bad about our history. We all know we have one of the worst histories in college football history.

Yes. We have had a nice run the last 3-4 years. We are all hoping it's the start of being a sustained player on the Big 12 and national stage.
Ok what I was saying about Iowa state was simply trying to make as dumb a statement as possible like comparing Oregon and WVU. Iowa state is far superior to Washington state.

Lolz, don't censor yourself, brother. We're interested in Ducks fans opinions and insights. Well, at least the good ISU fans are...

This back and forth over this is lame. If you think I've said anything ban-worthy or have even bashed your program then go do it already.

What's funny is that you expect me to take hostile insults and that I'm to accept it, yet when I send a tepid barb back in response, you freak out as if I just excoriated your program and fans and that its unacceptable.
If you don't mind me asking...

Do you have a Phd in Geology?

Just curious...

Honestly this is just wasting alcohol. If we win I expect JM to shotgun or beer bong a couple beers while hopefully spilling much less.

Y'all KNOW I had to vote for the cougs...for more reasons than one. My strongest memory of OU isn't of their football team. I remember their Xcountry team, and one of the best damn runners of my generation.
