Diamond Head Classic bracket released

Boise State was playing really small at the end of last year. They have some fantastic shooters and are returning their best players. That would be a fantastic matchup. It's that an easy path to get there though, because Akron, George Mason, and Oregon State all apperar to be teams that could beat ISU on a bad day.

Derrick Marks is a big time scorer for Boise. I hope we get to play them in the championship game, he will be a nice test for Kane or Hogue or whoever gets thrown on him. He put up 24 against Mich St, 35 against Creighton, 27 against New Mexico, 38 against Colorado St, and 27 against SDSU so he comes to play against big time opponents.

I agree; if we are going to compete for a top 4 finish in the Big XII this year, we really have no business not winning that tournament.

I wouldn't put that much on this tournament. Fred's shown that he uses the non conference to experiment and find the best rotation, and he has countless options this year.

Whats the tounrey Iowa is going to be in? That one is loaded. Would be surpised if Iowa came out with one win in it.

Ehhh..... I'm going to go out on a limb and say Boise State and Akron are just as good as teams as Wake Forest, UTEP, Xavier, and USC in that tournament. But of course they have the name.

Not a terrible field. But I do think that it would be a bit of a let down if ISU didn't win it.

The timing of this tournament is great too. Gets a lot of court time during the usual lame duck period of our season.

I'm a little meh about this. Don't quite see it as an RPI trap like some people do, but it certainly lacks a marquee name and probably will not attract a large audience nationwide. Would be nice to see a tougher power conference team, i.e. replace South Carolina or Oregon State with say Alabama out of the SEC and Oregon or Colorado out of the Pac 12.

Oh I hope the powers of the world give me a Iowa State vs Akron game that second round. I will be home in Akron that weekend and I could easily set up a huge gamewatch with my Akron folk and watch them cry in person

Well then I guess there's only one thing left to do.... win the whole *&%*&$* thing.

Christmas night title game. It will be competing with the NBA. Other than that, it's the only college game on!

I think I watched a ton of this tournament last year when I was home over Christmas last year, because it was on so late and I was used to Pacific Time. I was really happy there was something remotely interesting on.

You think Fred Hoiberg isn't a marquee name?

I really like going to Hawai'i. Will have to seriously consider going down there for this. Too bad its on O'ahu, but we can make a stop at another island as well, I guess.

If we're even close to the team I'm hoping we are, we shouldn't have any trouble winning this tournament.

You know we're reaching when we start calling Akron a good quality win. It's not. "Bring that tournament trophy home or don't even bother coming back"..... that's what Pollard should tell them when they leave:)

Christmas in Vegas, watching the clones from the Mirage sports book, placing bets on the clones bowl game. Can't wait.

I imagine that ultimatum would have a little more teeth if we were playing in say..........Alaska.

There are a couple of formidable teams in this tournament. I would love a tournament win for Christmas!
