Just back on campus and has already missed 2 free throws. Sorry had to do it.
Yeah, but when Mac is clearly a little ****** according to his quotes about him not being back sooner, it's not just the weather.
This. He could probably turn his back to the basket and shoot about the same percentage as he does normally. He must be shy so he shoots with his eyes closed in front of the crowd....
From my understanding there is more to the story than just "weather".
True, but according to McDermott he didn't do a great job communicating with the staff as to when he expected to be back. Iowa State bought him a plane ticket, but he didn't tell them the funeral was moved. And then they didn't know he wasn't coming back on Saturday. I've heard LaRon wasn't thrilled with his playing time and he should know that missing a weeks worth of games/practices probably won't help that. Hopefully, he learned a life lesson that communication is important.
to hard on the poor kid, cry, cry, cry... who cares... hes not being called names or anything crazy, hes not 13... when he walks down the street people are putting him down. or yelling bad things to him... most likely they are wishing him well. when he gets on the court i gurantee people will cheer for him... everyone will, every single person... because hes a clone.
this isnt tiny college athletics, its the big 12, and the ncaa is now a 4 billion dollar industry... athletes are going to be scrutinized. the previous comments were just giving him a bit of a hard time... and i think rightfully so. guys make fun of each other all the time, thats what we do... we call each other out, and then rally around each other when its go time... im sure dendy is a big boy and will be just fine with any of the comments... if not, id say grow a pair and erase them on the court.

I don't think the problem as far as Mac is concerned is the fact he is just getting back. I think the problem is he took to long to let anyone know. Supposedly he found out the funeral was moved back two days and took too long to tell the coaches so they could make arrangements. IMO this shows a little bit of a lack of care about the team and program. I don't know about you guys but if I am on a D1 basketball team that is very short on guys and I find out I will need to be gone longer then expected, I will immediately make a phone call to let the coaches know. I don't know how long he waited or whatever but I don't think the issue his him being gone. It was his apparent lack of concern for the team.
well part of it was that originally his plane ticket was for a Wednesday return. Iowa State can pay for the ticket out and back, but when the funeral got moved back to Thursday( I assume because of weather), the return ticket was no longer valid and NCAA rules don't allow Iowa State to exchange it for another one. So Dendy had to pay for his return flight. That along with weather delays may have had something to do with the mess-up of getting back here on time.
Either way Laron is a grown man and he did let his teammates down by not getting back as soon as possible. IF it was out of his control, then I'm sure the team understands.
Let's hope he leaves! Along with Craig and Gil and throw in DG as well. Hell they all suck, we'd be better without them all!
Do you guys just sit around and think up more things to ***** about. Hell Lafester sucked for 3 years but I was glad he was there for the 4th. Michael Nurse sucked his first year here but we wouldn't have made it the the final 8 without him.
I live for the day we have the patience to have 4 guys that have been there 4 years and 4 guys that have been there 3 years. We go so excited to run people off. ....It's a ******* GAME!

Yes, they do, however he did not notify the right people in time so they could not do it. That is what I think. I doubt they would have been able to buy him another one. Even if they could have, I wouldn't have.
