Denae Fritz transferring

I like how everyone laughs at the Hawkeyes for the mental gymnastics they play rationalizing events, but look at this like nothing is wrong
Outside of a very select few, at least it seems like most fans' alarm bells are ringing.

Do I see a world where there's a down year but Bill gets a bit of a bounce back after? Sure.

But I don't think that's likely and pretty concerned about where things stand and are headed.

Billy worked for Brenda Frese. Maybe he can get on the phone with her, like tonight, and get some tips for rebuilding.

Just my guess.

This team is what Bill wanted it to be when Soares was healthy.

Bill tried adjusting to be a not-just-Ashley team when Soares went down.

Bill showed he can’t really scheme for everyone on the court to be successful on offense and we regressed.

Bill had to revert back to having Joens carry the load so we stopped the bleeding.

The thing is, if Bill were to get fired or if he resigned on his own, we're opening up the risk of losing our signees for 2023. They are released of their LOI if a coach leaves or is terminated for any reason

Immediately after Soares went down, you don’t see much of a drastic difference in shot attempts per game. Lost 3 straight to start February, we revert back to Ashley shooting 35% of the shots,

Bill’s tenure has been great with some rough years sprinkled in there, but something is definitely different here. As we sit right now, we can barely field a team even if all the Freshman play this fall.

It’s just pretty f*cking sad

It is fascinating....as in the new ERA of player mobility, so many factors could lead to this.

I do think as another poster said, with such a consistent staff, depending on what is going on, something may need to change...or find players that want exactly what we have to offer.

The "Iowa state way" mantra (or family mantra) now feels awkward to use as a "this is who we are"
