Demarion Watson

In TJ we trust. BUT, this Cyclone team expends a lot of energy screening, trapping, cutting, rebounding, driving, and defending. I doubt you are going to get 30 minutes from anyone going 100% in all 6 categories. Last year BRE only averaged 22 minutes/game. So why not use a 9 man rotation ? Is player A at 85% effort more valuable than player B at 100% effort? Heise and Watson both being player B.
200 minutes divided by 25+/- minutes per player is 8 players... 25 minutes per player is very sustainable.

Wonder if he is going to be a coveted transfer?. Can't imagine he will stay on at ISU when he thinks about how he was completely relegated to the bench for half the season. His whole season would have been wasted if not for Milan's injury.

How do you know he feels like this though?

Is it possible a guy just really likes the program?

He kinda got screwed over for the first half of the year. Hope he stays. If he does he's a more forgiving guy than most.

How do you know he got screwed over?

What evidence is there of it?

How do you know there's anything to forgive?

Did TJ tell him he'd be playing a bunch?

Nothing suggests he's not bought in so I don't get the conjecture.

The answer to questions 1,2, and 3 is he did not get to play at all. I think his play on the court proves that the decision not to play him at all was an oversight by the coaching staff.

There is no way we brought in Chatfield, Jefferson, and Jackson and Watson thought his minutes were going to increase.

It’s very possible Watson just likes our program and wants to play for a team capable of winning a national championship.

Completely agree. Listen to TJ’s post game after Kansas and it will tell everyone what they need to know about Watson’s character as a teammate.

And it doesn't have to be more than that.

So when Milan comes back he should go back to the bench and never play again unless someone gets hurt?

Not sure. That depends on what the staff sees for what's planned for the match up.

Once again, the staff that sees the team every day.

This is a pretty dumb take.

But it did remind me of Jacy Holloway and how Tim Floyd spent years trying to recruit over him and was never able. They aren't the same (Jacy was a legit starter and Watson isn't), but there are some parallels there. It seems like, most of the time, when he's needed Watson performs pretty well.

Don't think Its possible
I think Watson will get some of Heise's minutes after Milan returns.
Maybe Heise is better in practice than Watson but I think its pretty clear that he is better than Heise on gameday. Pretty sure a good coaching staff (we have a good one) can make that observation and adjust.
