DeAndre Kane visiting next week

I don't get this "if we are just going to barely make the tournament just play all the freshman and call it a rebuilding year" nonsense. Do you watch the tournament? VCU was one of the last 4 teams in a few years ago and went to the Final 4. Wichita State wasn't necessarily on the bubble but was an 8 seed. Heck, I still think we were a last second three away from having a good path to the Final Four this year as a 10 seed.

Moral of the story, you try to get into the tournament every year, even if you don't think you have the players to win it. Once you are in, the madness takes over.

Reading the past 10 pages was good. Lots of insight here. The main points I took away:
1.) We could use Kane
2.) Kane wouldn't hurt us if he came here
3.) mattyice...likes to...type like....this.

Actually.....i think thats about it really :)

We were a lowly 10 seed.

this thread got stupid. fast. hopefully when Kane commits tomorrow we can stop bickering.

The bickering won't stop if Kane commits to ISU. It will start more discussions/arguments/speculations about where the scholarship is coming from.

There'll be boatloads of discussions about "doing it the right way".

Is there a team in our league that doesn't have a transfer waiting to play or coming in this year? I know UT, WVU, KSU, ISU, KU, TTech & TCU all have transfers coming in. I am sure the others do to. So many teams doing it wrong I guess.

And more lineup threads!

Well, why wait :)
PG: Monte, Bubu/Naz
SG: Kane, Thomas, Bluford
SF: Hogue, SDW, Ejim
PF: Ejim, Niang, Hogue
PF: Niang, Armadi, Percy, Edozie
The funny thing about early lineups, you have no idea how the players will progress. To me, I know Fred said he wants Ejim to play the 3 and Niang to play the 4, but if that happens, it seems like we keep better talent on the bench to start the game and I just can't see that happening. Especially if we bring in Kane, he wont come here to play off the bench. I also can't see Hogue, Thomas and SDW coming off the bench either but someone has to.
And where does Naz fit in to everything. I think people undervalue him, especially in terms of his work ethic. Can he take big enough strides in the offseason to force minutes or does he fall deeper in the depth chart?
This last season, Bubu regressed a bit (Due to personal life issues I'm sure) leaving an opening for 2nd string PG. I am hoping Naz is good enough to earn that spot. Time will tell.
And how good is Bluford? Will he have a McGee level impact or will he be more of a Heslip type player... A sharpshooter with poor defense and lack of driving skills. I wish we had some tape on the guy.

I don't really see how any starting lineup can't include Thomas. I would think he's the biggest sure fire starter outside of Niang and Ejim and Kane if he came.

Monte/Bubu
Thomas
Kane
Ejim
Niang.

Really hope Kane commits, I really think he rounds out our roster and gives the veteran guard we need. Also a great way to take some pressure off the guys playing in their first season.

Does anyone know for sure if he is visiting? After being pushed back I didn't know if a different route had been taken. Either way, I don't know much about Kane, but with all the "publicity" he has received from this board I want him in a Cyclone uniform next year.

The twitter-sphere is quiet currently. I haven't seen any updates on if/how the visit went.
