How is a piece of **** like you still here?

The hawk fan base is whinny because Fred continues to bring in quality basketball players that make ISU NCAA worthy. They are hypersensitive to all of this stuff even though it has nothing to do with them. The best part? It appears they have accepted the commitment of their second transfer under Franny. However, it's different for iowa. Because.

If this kid screws up he will be shown the door, I am sure that has been told to him by CFH. Its not like we don't have other options at this point. We are lucky to have Coach Hoiberg, and if he signs RV he will transend all levels of ISU legend there is.

Just to provide some perspective from Doctor's past posts. You can literally count the positive ones on one hand. The rest are more like this:

When you take the lazy way in building a team, this will happen sometimes.

I don't think the players have as much invested to avoid losses like this. This was an effort, pride and discipline thing.

We are the first team in the TOP 200 that Texas Tech beat this entire year.

We're just not a good team, overall. We have talent, though, so it's either coaching or coaching.

We narrowly escaped another horrible loss in OT.

Yeah, when Yale is dropping the hammer on you for a good portion of the game, you've got problems.

This is all coaching.

The talent is there. Fred can't get them to play as a team, which isn't shocking considering his experience and their past.

Fortune 500 companies didn't build their business by hiring all their competitors rejects.

It is embarrassing. We already have a felon on our team and all indications are he'll remain on the team.

Idiots on here will say that this type of thing is what's necessary to have a winning program.

They're wrong, of course, but when we were losing they probably spun the honor before victory thing.

In other words,

Don't feed the troll.

4 years ago we were complaining because McDermott couldn't win bringing in a bunch of midwestern boys, and many said he needed to "get with the times" and take some risks. The same people also claimed that we can't sit around for 3-4 years and wait for those kids to develop.

Now we have Fred, bringing in talent from all over the country, albeit with alot being transfers. He is bringing in proven players who may be "risks" and some are now made we aren't developing enough talent.

Geesh. We are winning. By-and-large are players are staying out of trouble. Who cares?

Yeah, I just wonder how many times you can roll the dice on players like this before something bad happens. Spitting on a fan, beating a guy while someone holds him...not worth the risk, imo.

I don't think it is too much of a risk. The worst that happens is we kick him off the team if he gets in trouble... then we are right back where we were two days ago. Its a 1-year scholarship, were not out anything in the long run. Kind of like Amardi, hopefully he has a good senior year, if not we can use the scholarship again nextyear.

I'm impressed with Fred and the staff. We are so used to missing on recruits that are key to bump us a level. Fred seems to be damn good at getting the pivotal kids into the program.

Once he and the staff really set their sights on someone - they most often end up in Ames.

the 2014 recruiting class will be a good indication of how good of a recruiter he really is. We are after some really big fish there.

Unless your the person that gets held down while Kane punches you in the stomach...

I'm sure Kane just wanders around, randomly punching people in the stomach...

**** happens, people get in fights. Life goes on. Can't hold it against him the rest of his life.

This guy...I think Kane showed maturity with his decision to leave home and come to Ames for a fresh start. Get behind him or **** off. (Not directed at you chuck because I think you are joking, just in general)

Immediately thought of

As long as the rent's on time, you don't wreck the place, we're okay. If not...I punch you in the stomach

If that ever comes up, that Sam's department

Yeah, that's my department.

Agreed, something tells me Cunningham and Davis are our best bets. Crossing my fingers for either Abu or Vaughn but that will be a couple tough gets.

I'm kinda hoping Fred redshirts Naz this year. The kid can ball, but we needed him on the roster last year so bad because of the Bubu situation and no backup point guard. He obviously struggled but i think he could be a good big 12 PG. Great size, athleticism, and judging by his cap city league and high school number, he really knows how to score the ball. I would like to see him redshirt, and come back ready to rock in '14. We all love monte but none of us have yet to see him play college basketball. Monte will have Bubu and Kane in front of him but after next year its just him. '14 will be Custer's first year too. So if Naz sits out a year, gets better and adapts to the game, then you have a great 1-2 punch at PG in '14 with him and Monte.

Looking forward to seeing Naz in Cap City league in order to compare him to last year. I loved the defensive effort and intensity that he brought last year. Hope he still has that and has added some more to his offensive threat.

I remember someone asked Babb who was the next lock down defender under Fred and he said Naz

If you don't think the kid is a risk then you are a homer. Of course it's a risk. But the kid has talent and if the staff can keep him on the straight and narrow it could turn out to be a great pick up.

If character is such a question with DeAndre Kane, how is it that he was somehow able to reign in his thuggishness to at least graduate from a university? That shows some level of self-discipline and perhaps even positive character, does it not?
