Dan Patrick vs. Colin Cowherd

I don't get the Jay Mohr hype. B-List celebrity and comedian and gets a show because he likes sports. The sound drops and bits are even more annoying than Rome's while he's still not knowledgeable, then again I'm not sure he claims to be. Seems like a good guy I guess who cares about his fans, but I don't miss him now that Eisen has gotten better here the last while. Jury's still out on what Rich will talk about now that the NFL is done.

Jay Mohr is awful, seriously the worst thing on radio.

It took me a long time to get used to Jay Mohr. I hated it at first. It grew on me, though, once I appreciated it for what it was. The KXNO line-up that I had on everyday of Dan Patrick from 8-11, Jay Mohr from 11-2, and Murph & Andy from 2-4 was perfect.

I agree with this 100%. I was used to listen to radio at work because it was the only thing that was blocked on the computer. Since I switched jobs I listen to kxno and it is much better in my opinion. Love DP and murph and Andy. At first I hates Jay Mohr but I started to like him. I get really bored by rich eisen and don't like his sidekicks.

I do a lot of driving for work and am spoiled with SiriusXM. Maddog station as a whole is heads and shoulders above everything else offered. Though the morning show "morning men" has dropped off drastically after phillips left.

and to get back on topic, using some of DP's lingo, he just dropped a walk-off on colin

whoa, I can't go with you on that one. That whole channel is pure amateur hour for the most part. The morning show is a prime example. And Stephen A. Smith's show is almost un-listenable. Uggh, no thank you. SVP and Russillo are head and shoulders better than anything that's on Mad Dog.

I don't mind Russillo but sometimes SVP just comes off too much like a frat boy.

I do wish Mike & Mike would talk about more than the NFL, they don't talk nearly enough about college football.

LBT and Stugatz are just annoying, yet another reason to wish Miami would fall off into the Atlantic.

Cowherd thinks he's Steve McQueen but everyone else knows he's really David Caruso.

Why anyone would listen to ESPN radio when there are far better options available is beyond me.

This is where I'm at. National radio topics are too broad and boring for me. They are always the mainstream topics, and a lot of the time the subject is not even about actual performance of a team or individual.

Personally I listen to 810 out of KC. Partly because it's easily the best of the sports stations that comes in, but also its heavy Big 12 football & bball, and KC Royals & Chiefs, my favorite pro teams. I'd much rather listen to team specific information and analysis, as opposed to Kobe/Lebron and Brady/Manning jerk off, combined with the non stop latest off the field issues.

Satellite radio is also pretty neat to have. I can listen to extended amounts of Golf Channel and Fantasy Football Radio when they're in season.

DP has been big for me for the last 5+ years. Always love his show.

Down here in Dallas, 103.3 ESPN has a crappy National line up (M&M, then Cowherd), then switches to local for the afternoon. Their afternoon show (Tim Cowlishaw and Matt Mosely) is great. They talk mostly Dallas pro teams, but also give the Big 12 some love.

Cowherd is such a punk. He also bashed on Skip Bayless, right? He really isn't much different. Takes outlandish positions, but then proceeds to try and belittle those who disagree. I just don't get why he has a national radio show and probably makes a very comfortable six figures.

I guess I've never really heard anyone say they really enjoy Cowherd and his takes, so it doesn't make sense to me.

Cowherd is right up there with Greenberg as the biggest tool on ESPN. The difference is though that Greenberg is just an annoying dork while Cowherd is arrogant and thinks he's a big time talent.

Skip and Stephen A are basically cartoon characters.

SVP and Russillo are the best thing going on ESPN...and its not even close.

Would be a good Celebrity Death Match. They need to bring that back to diss our current crop of lame celebrities.

I'll take Greenie every day of the week. At least he knows he's a dork and celebrates his dorkiness pretty much every day. He's light-years smarter than Cowherd, and being paired with Golic, Greenie has to bring it every day knowing his positions and arguments will be challenged. Can you imagine Cowherd having a partner every day who challenges his BS? He'd get owned 99% of the time, only he wouldn't be able to hit 'mute'.

I was with you until "Golf Channel." Don't think I could handle radio golf....
