D Mac a golden domer?

I guess I should have answered that call from an unknown number in Indiana today.

Considering he works for Charlie Strong... and Strong has coached in South Bend before.

I totally agree.

I would have been a happy camper last winter had we hired Charlie Strong. I honestly have no idea why nobody has given him a shot yet.

Charlie Strong may be the next in line at Louisville, I think that is what I heard today. Also stated that Urban Meyer is completely behind him getting a HC gig.

Thats what I have heard as well... He basically already has the job from what I have heard.

DMac couldn't get us to the next level and if he did, he would have been the first. I'm not sure Brian Kelly or a post-Utah Urban Meyer could come in here and take us to the BCS. DMac getting us where he did is nothing short of an outstanding coaching job. Things soured when we back tracked a couple of years. I have always thought given more time, he would get us back to where we were. My point, that makes DMac a pretty darn good coach and deserves another shot as head coach

With that said, I would have a hard time believeing ND would be that school, good for him if it happens, I'm pulling for him

I doubt this has any legs to run on, but I also didn't think a thread started by someone with a name that looks so much like "Poo" to stay open this long either.

What's astounding is how many ND fans actually think this is a good idea, using the "it's tough to win in Ames" as a qualifier. Yeah, maybe it's tough to win in Ames, but the results of 2002-2006 weren't from it being "tough to win in Ames" but more of visual signs of a lack of bladder control resulting in visible wet streaks down the pant legs...
