From a realistic standpoint, I wouldn't have a major gripe if KU or UT were still ranked above ISU.

But if voters are being consistent, that'd be silly. Each team lost to an opponent that had zero votes the previous week.

Both Stanford and Temple will have votes this week. Fair enough – but you can't elevate those teams without dropping Kansas and Texas a little, too.

Are you asking for logic when it comes to rankings? There is no logic it's all a crapshoot.

People are expecting us to move up 3 spots without even playing? We'll move up 1 to 11.
So who do you put in front of us? All 3 teams in front of us lost to unranked teams, Texas lost at home, Kansas got blown out, and WSU was clearly overrated. We should be 9.

I agree they should be. Voters don't use logic though...
Parrish has us one spot below Maryland and hasn't budged for weeks. I agree with that logic until one of those two teams does something great or loses. They beat us fair and square.

Based upon the way these voters are voting, seems they are just going off records, rather than actually evaluating who is the best at this point. There are a whole lot of teams ahead of ISU that ISU would likely beat at this point. In fact, everyone that is ahead of ISU is not terribly impressing me. Kentucky and Lousiville end up in the 50's? ISU has 50 points just getting off the bus.

Based upon a few peoples ballots that have been posted, I say that ISU ends up 12th. One guy just shuffled the 11 teams ahead of ISU around, and left ISU in the same spot as last week, 12th. KU and UT were both still ahead of ISU.

Our lack of good competition so far is hurting us. They may think we are pretty good but want to see us play a good team...way from Hilton...first. I know I'm interested in how that will go. I imagine a non-biased voter would as well.

We're ranked ahead of Maryland for the same reason our teams couldn't crack the ranking a few years ago when we were clearly as good as the 20-25 teams. They're used to us being there and winning in March now.

Not saying it's right, but we were on the other side of it recently.

Agreed. I've been looking forward to Jan 10th for quite a while

Yea but would you agree with that logic if somebody put Iowa above North Carolina?

They both don't have a single loss so it's different. They've both had significant games to evaluate before and since that game. ISU and Maryland basically have 2 games each that are noteworthy and one is with each other.

Body of work. Since KC, Maryland has lost to Virginia and beat Okst. ISU has beat Arkansas (at hilton) and beat Iowa (who is struggling).
Nothing on the outside says that game was not indicative of relative strength. That will change eventually. A lot has happened for both Iowa and North Carolina since that game.
