The Big12 was going to get screwed the minute Texas and Oklahoma left for the SEC. It just had to play out...and is still playing out.

I saw an interview with the guy in charge of the playoffs. He was very clear that it's supposed to be the 12 "best" teams. Not said, but insinuated that it's "best" versus most deserving.

CW is clear in his take that it's specifically a TV product. Nothing more than that.

Until proven otherwise, I expect the bare minimum of bids for non B10/SEC teams.

The only thing that would change any of that is money.

Not at all it’s a great road win against a P4 team. But the fan base can’t constantly talk about how trash Iowa is and how they are overrated and then turn around and ask why the win isn’t getting more love. The more Iowa wins the better that game will look on the resume

I'm not normally superstitious, but I don't like all of this talk about ISU potentially making the playoffs. We haven't played a conference game yet. I still have flashbacks from 1980 when ISU was 5-0 and had outscored its opponents 179 to 27. Fans were throwing oranges on field symbolizing our hopes of winning the Big 8 and going to the Orange Bowl. We lost the next five games and finished the season 6-5. I'm not saying that's going to happen this year, but I like taking it one game at a time and not get ahead of ourselves. Maybe I'm jaded as a long-time Cyclone fan, but I like keeping our expectations in check and enjoying our successes as they come.
