Poor defense kills a crowd. It zaps the energy.

But despite our late collapse and miserable play, the crowd had a couple of moments at the end where they could have helped overcome some of the team's failings-- like when Baylor was successfully shooting FT after FT at the end. That is just very un-Hilton like.

i don't think the crowd was bad. But your excuse about poor defense zapping a crowd is ********.

I think our fans suffer from believing the hype much more than the players. We think that the team should be able to step on the court and win.

thats because students weren't there. The families actually show up, unlike the students, but the students do a better job yelling at things like free throws.

We are at most home games with seats right next to the student section and were there for the Baylor game. I actually mentioned to my husband how awful the crowd was during the game. We came to the conclusion that it probably had to do with people who don't normally attend games sitting in seats that are normally filled with loud, engaged students. Noticed that towards the end of the game, there were quite a few in those sections seemingly trying to get loud when we had the ball (which I realize "feels" like the right thing to do to pump up your team).

I also realize it can be a little intimidating to get loud if most of the people around you are sititng like they are watching an orchestra concert but we need poeple, especially regulars, to step up and set the tone. Obviously, this doesn't automatically win games but it can definitely influence wins - they call it "home field/court advantage" for a reason!!

Can confirm. I think they only have a couple sections reserved for students (winter break tickets are only $5 for students with pass).

Need help from Cyclone Jr Club people who fill the seats.

Dumb thread to bump. I don't think anyone questioned whether Hilton sounds great for Oklahoma, Kansas, or Iowa.
