Student section was packed for both UNI and Iowa. It will be more of the same Saturday.I’m not going to rag on fan attendance from the non students.
You would think with Record enrollment that we could fill the entire student section the whole way.

By conference agreement, I believe, a certain amount of tickets have to be made available to visiting teams. If those tickets are not sold by the visitors, they are returned and can be sold to local fans.Saw JPs comment about the returned tix. If that's the case then we are allocating a crapload of tickets for visitors. I call BS on that because if you go to Ticketmaster there are tons of tix available in many of the sections that aren't listed as visitors. Disappointing but we will be loud nonetheless.
TCU has a lot more tradition and success and yet when they redid their stadium they sized it smaller than what iSU averages when they have 2 and 3 win season? And people are claiming iSU fanbase isn't good if they don't sell out the stadium Saturday? Really?
And we still outdraw TCU every freaking weekend. Hell, I bet we outdrew TCU when we played Kansas on a rainy day.
- 40 years of getting kicked in the nuts
- 3 winning seasons since the last time we were ranked and played a ranked opponent
- 17 wins in the last 5 years
- 9 home wins in the last five years and 34 home losses
- 3 losses to FCS opponents in the last five years
And people are still wondering why casual fans have found better things to do with their Saturdays? Would rather spend three hours watching the game on TV versus dropping $150+ to drive two or more hours and spend the day in Ames? Could pheasnt hunt int he morning with a group of buddies, go grab lunch and drink beer while watching the game instead of driving and dropping money to watch the game.
But apparently all that doesn't matter and our fans don't serve Campbell, aren't great fans, don't support the coaches and players unless the stadium is sold out Saturday
I’m talking middle of the third quarter when the game is out of reach.
The student section has been full for 3/4 games....I’m not going to rag on fan attendance from the non students.

A big problem with ISU's fanbase is that they are too successful and a LOT of engineers. However, there aren't that many engineering jobs in Iowa and so they spread through out the country. Hard to go back to football games that way.

They already bought the tickets, they just need to get to the game. The general attendance was very good for Kansas. The student section was like 1/4 full. You're forgetting what it's like to be a student and see a $140 price tag for something, methinks.
We do pretty good, regardless.
There is a lot of engineers from ISU at John Deere in both Des Moines, Waterloo, and Quad Cities area.A big problem with ISU's fanbase is that they are too successful and a LOT of engineers. Bold, you're predicting ISU to blow out the frogs before the end of the 3rd quarter.
He is responding to a hawk troll that says ISU will only have 42k fans at the game.perhaps they think the opposite. tcu will be blowing isu out of the water. tcu is pretty good afterall. i didn't read this whole thread so perhaps i am missing vital information.
I'm choosing to make the road trip from Texas to see this game...that doesn't make me a better fan than someone who is listening to it in the cab while harvesting, or checking the updates while watching/coaching their kids game.
Life happens, priorities happen.
But thats the issue...until we get sustained success, we are not going to sell out these types of games. Its just the way it is. That being said, the fact that we will likely have 55-60K in the stadium this weekend for a team that has won 11 games the previous 4 seasons is phenomenal.I'm thankful we have such a dedicated fanbase with our historical performance on the field. That said, I can't believe there are people justifying and making excuses why we cannot have 60,000 people in JTS for the biggest game in 10+ years. It's mind boggling.
