Crazy what a win does for my optimism...

I'm going to give the offensive line their due today. 212 yards rushing is dominant - and TCU prides themselves in always being solid against the run.

Darrell Simmons was a MAN today, absolutely rock solid. I am curious why he didn't play game 1? (not that it matters now). But a line with Simmons and Downing at guard, Newell in the middle, and Ramos does just fine by my standards. Brock had plenty of time back there today.

I thought Purdy played well today outside of the backwards toss. He wasn't throwing it behind the receivers like he did 2 weeks ago. He also had a couple nice runs although he still gets stuffed too much on 3rd and 1. I don't know why our O line struggles so much in short yardage situations.

He struggled in the first quarter mostly, but once he got going it was really just the one bad play. It says a lot that after struggling he came back and answered when TCU cut it to 2 twice.

OL was very good. The great thing was seeing huge holes on both sides of the line. I think we saw a game plan where Foster can be very effective at T. Run heavy, play action, on pass plays chip w/ TE. He played very well today.

Great win by the clones today on the road against a quality program. Great response to the debacle two weeks ago. Our D line is awesome. 10 sacks in 2 games. Need the secondary to figure it out though. Breece Hall is for real. If Purdy gets on track with recovers he is going to have even more room to roam. Lots of potential for this offense.

I couldn't watch and this seems to be a common theme again. Outside of whatever the lovely **** that was with the pitch 6, what were his trends today?
Take away the one really stupid play, and he had four incomplete passes, at most, two of which were bad throws. One of his four incomplete passes was a sideline throw that 100% should have been called pass interference but wasn’t so was counted as an incomplete pass. People complaining about him in anything else other than regarding that dumb play in this game are ******* idiots.

Idiots on a message board? Now I’ve seen it all.

Famous (infamous) for the Pitch Six...and still get the W...Purdy will be fine. I really like the run blocking so far...this team is going to get push up front that is going to pay dividends all year long.

Week 2 showed me the conference has never been as wide open as it is right now, and every game on the rest of our schedule is going to be a real battle - no gimmies, but no impossible upsets either.

I like our chances in that kind of environment because Campbell coached teams generally get better throughout the year and they don't get too high after big wins or too low after disappointing losses. It's gonna be fun watching how the season unfolds in the Big 12.

Had we lost that game, after that play, it could have had a severely lingering effect. I'm not worried about it at all. He and his teammates can laugh about it. Not in front of CMC though. :) I'm sure he is thoroughly embarraseed and mad at himself but the "W" saved his ass.

Maybe it’s just me but I’m less confident now than before. Against Louisiana almost all of the issues were execution problems. There were stretches particularly in the first quarter where they were just gameplan issues.

I mean I am happier now than last time but the issues yesterday don’t seem to be as quick of fixes.

TCUs touchdown to the TE was a straight blown coverage, and guys weren’t ready pre-snap. Then of course there’s the fumbleception. So you’ve got two huge play TDs that were blown plays. Last you’ve got a meaningless TD at the end. I think there is still a ton to clean up in terms of execution. Hell, they dialed up the blitz and got exactly what they wanted with Rose getting a free run and the QB made an incredible throw as he’s getting hit.

From a game plan perspective they definitely need to figure out how to get out of the gates offensively.

We're starting conference play with a road win. Every team looks beatable. We witnessed improvement on the OL and special teams. OU is coming to town for a night game and fans will actually be in attendance. And it will be the beginning of Brocktober.

C'mon guys, there's reason to be optimistic!

CYCLONE POWER!!!

Don't put expectations on this team. You will only end up with a broken heart. I'm just taking it day by day and enjoying the wins as they come. We lost to OU last year after they lost to Kstate

I still have concerns with the passing game. They still haven’t seemed fully in sync yet. That O-line though restored ALOT of confidence in me. If we get Downing back and Simmons keeps playing like a stud we’re in good shape

I don’t really have any concerns defensively. I was really happy with the defense again. My concerns are almost exclusively offense and special teams.

TCU was far more ready to play than I expected..

TCU has talent..

we still aren’t in total sync and offensively but having Kolar back helps a lot ..

kudos to our WRs for making some key catches

It's crazy the amount of talent TCU is able to recruit considering their last few years.

How about some recognition to Darrell Simmons. This kid made some mistakes but I thought he was impressive for someone getting his first meaningful reps. I hope he starts at right guard next week. And hopefully Downing will be back.
