IU was in the East.I agree with most of what you're saying, but West Lafayette is much farther from Ames than Lawrence is. 450 miles vs 280.

But you said Purdue was barely farther than KU.IU was in the East.
Oh yeah, sorry I read West Lafayette and Indiana just popped in my head. But you said Purdue was barely farther than KU.
KU is quite a bit closer than Purdue. Like several hours.
ESPN and Fox are.I agree with your assertion; however, is anyone really excited to see OSU, Michigan, Bama, Georgia, Texas, and and maybe Oregon, USC, Penn State, and a handful of other potential National Title contenders battle it out every season. I, for one, am not.
Not a chance. Purdue is our lifelong most hated conference rival. They hate us. We hate them. No way they'd have ever separated us.Oh yeah, sorry I read West Lafayette and Indiana just popped in my head.
Yeah I guess its more than barely, but as I said If in that hypothetical that ISU joined the West, Purdue would have moved to the East, and the rest are all very similar or closer than KU.
Iowa would just protect that one too..... Iowas close to making their own division inside the B1G themselves with all their protected rivals. Not a chance. Purdue is our lifelong most hated conference rival. They hate us. We hate them. No way they'd have ever separated us.
See, the thing is, if every single conference foe is a rival, no one is.Not a chance. Purdue is our lifelong most hated conference rival. They hate us. We hate them. No way they'd have ever separated us.
Yeah but Purdue is different.See, the thing is, if every single conference foe is a rival, no one is.
Gotta add a 4th protected rivalry for yaNot a chance. Purdue is our lifelong most hated conference rival. They hate us. We hate them. No way they'd have ever separated us.
I guess I never knew Iowa and Purdue were even rivals.Yeah but Purdue is different.
I guess I never knew Iowa and Purdue were even rivals.
We're not. Lol. Back when we had Legends and Leaders divisions the B1G basically assigned us as "rivals" who would play a protected crossover game every year. One of the dumber things I've seen in my lifetime.I guess I never knew Iowa and Purdue were even rivals.
anyone notice that everything went wrong with the world when the Big 10 got rid of the legends and leadersWe're not. Lol. Back when we had Legends and Leaders divisions the B1G basically assigned us as "rivals" who would play a protected crossover game every year. One of the dumber things I've seen in my lifetime.
Other is stay the same, no reason why it currently can’t. Just like economics you will have winners and losers, early adopters, and periods of chaos. Here's whats wrong in a nutshell:
The SEC and B1G are getting 2-3x the money and have the biggest brands. Yet joining either conference would be WORSE than staying in the Big12 in basically every other way - besides money.
It just doesn't seem like this can go on forever. Zeroth law of economics- if something can't continue forever, then eventually it will stop.
So what happens when it stops?
- Consolidation- Commander Cody Campbell Utopia via government
- Separation - Top 20 split off to a SuperLeague and rest become Division 2
- Other?
Yeah, the old Big 10 West is something I would have really enjoyed, and would have loved to be a part of.Oh yeah, sorry I read West Lafayette and Indiana just popped in my head.
Yeah I guess its more than barely, but as I said If in that hypothetical that ISU joined the West, Purdue would have moved to the East, and the rest are all very similar or closer than KU.
Was that right after Wisconsin and Nebraska played in the championship?anyone notice that everything went wrong with the world when the Big 10 got rid of the legends and leaders
