Anyone else excited for the reboot? The original series with Carl Sagan is on Netflix streaming and Hulu.

Well this thread didn't generate much excitement the first time around, but the reboot starts up tonight. Really looking forward to it.

watching right now as well. wish there was more shows like this on television. You know like when the history channel actually showed history shows and discovery showed science shows.

I recorded the original cosmos shows from national geographic this afternoon. The presentation that Carl Sagan did was pretty cool and it was done without any of the high end CGI that we'll see with the reboot.

I really enjoyed the show. I am a little young for the original run (I was born during the time it ran) but have seen parts of it off and on over the last 30+ years. I'm a big fan of Neil deGrasse Tyson (his ability to explain complex issues easily reminds me of my favorite physicist, Richard Feynman) and was super ****** when I couldn't see him at U of Iowa due to their extremely poor choice of venue when he came to speak (Memorial Union).

I watched the original on Netflix about a year ago. I was stoked to find out they were redoing it. I watched it last night and really enjoyed it. I think Tyson was the perfect choice for the show host this time around. The animations and photos were spectacular!

The fake documentaries are getting ridiculous. Mermaids and Megalodon. Last week there was one about a swamp monster. They have the fake scientists as actors. Just don't want to tell the Eastsiders in Des Moines it's fake or the WWE, they'll go crazy.

Put me in the category of too young to see the first but, intrigued by the reboot. Carl Sagan is a pretty interesting dude. One of my favorite quotes is by him, "absence of evidence is not evidence of absence."

Neil deGrasse Tyson.... and I think I like him more than Mr. Sagan. Doesn't seem so... intellectual. Like a working joe version of Sagan.
