I just wanted to say that I'm really happy for Coach Mac and wish him the best in the BCS title game. There's no doubt he has put in his time and paid his dues, so it's awesome to see him living out one of his dreams and playing for all the marbles.

With that said, I'd also like to see the Big XII beat the SEC for the biggest prize in CF, so I'll probably be rooting for OU too. It will be an awesome title game regardless.

If they win do you think he will call Pollard and tell him he has a BCS title ring now and have now been to places ISU has never been.

If Mac is offered the New Mexico job he will likely miss the BCS title game.

Nah, Mac is too classy for this and I think him and Pollard probably have a pretty good relationship still. I believe McCarney would be quick to congratulate Pollard and the cyclone coaching staff for any future success - hopefully that phone call will come some day.

The purpose of my post was just to congratulate Dan on being on top right now - not to speculate whether or not Florida would still be playing for the title without him. He's been in the depths of the cellar with all of us through some of the years as well, so I'm sure he appreciates this success even more.

Pelini did both last year. Worked on putting his staff and recruiting in place at Nebraska while still spending some time coaching LSU in the BCS championship.

Regardless if Mac gets the New Mexico job and doesn't coach in the bowl, he would get a ring if Florida wins.

I just wanted to say I could care less where Dan McCarney is coaching or what kind of success he is having. Congrats for not being here anymore!

horrible post imo. dan mccarney is one of the, if not, most successful coaches in ISU history. wow thats just a bad post.:skeptical:

Do you honestly think that Mac and Pollard have a good relationship? Do you really? Pollard fired him! Would you have a good relationship with your boss if he fired you? I bet not.

Coach Mac wishes ISU well, probably not Pollard.

Best Wishes Coach, thanks for all you did for all program!
