NFL: ***Conference Championship Sunday Thread***

Feel so good for those die-hard LA fans that have waited 3 years for this

Couldn't care less. How would you feel about Iowa playing for a National Championship at Jack Trice Stadium? That's about how much I feel about the Saints trying to win a Super Bowl in Atlanta.

I imagine the refs will have to be held accountable in some way for that brutal no call. I don’t know how you can miss that.

That’s an atrocious no call and it’s not that I care, but goodness isn’t that a problem?

I didn't even know the Falcons and the Saints were rivals.

Falcons-Saints is the rivalry of the NFC South. They entered the league one year apart (Falcons '66, Saints '67) and have played each other a minimum of twice ever since. The rivalry just didn't mean much most years (probably excluding 1991) until the 2000s when both teams became decent.

I may despise the Patriots, but the Saints are the team I hate most. Which is unfortunate because I actually like Drew Brees and of course love AJ Klein.

Not sure what people are seeing. Both players obviously going for the ball that's behind them.

Hell, could have been targeting too.

Can you put up the plays where the Saints couldn't covert in the red zone and had to settle for field goals? How about the pick in OT?

Maybe throw up that long and risky Rams field goal to win too.

It wasn't just one play.

I am so worked up about that no call and I had no dog in the fight (I did bet on the Saints but won enough other bets today that I didn't care that much). If that happened to the Clones, I think I'd be just as pissed as I was after the K State game

I'm not saying the Saints didn't have other chances. Of course they did. I'm one of the few that holds ISU accountable for their own messes while everyone else puts it all on the refs so no argument there.

But if you are a ref in a conference title game in the NFL you'd better be able to make an obvious call like that. We're talking basically a tackle while the ball is in the air.

It's obviously not just one play, but that play specifically would have allowed them to basically end the game.

That's such ******** reasoning. Of course there's plenty of other things that could have happened. That doesn't excuse a blatantly obvious missed call that cost a team a chance at the super bowl
