Cohlton Schultz commits to ASU

I thought you were saying things look good for us with CS? Duggan is eh.

It's disappointing we missed out on Schultz. Excited to see what Duggan can do - although he isn't near the recruit Schultz is.

On a side note - who else are we in on? Recruits are going to start committing the next couple of months. Anyone know any other names Cyclones might be high on their list?

We did, but we weren't the only ones in play. Schultz loves his Greco and maybe ASU made a bigger push with the Greco training. Schultz visited Ames right before US Open or Trials for an unofficial visit

I think Assad & Kharchla, but either are going to be tough to land

Ryan Anderson and Jackson Turley
DeVos & Rathjen of Iowa (Are they both going to be seniors?)

My wish list of those recruits in order:
Anderson - My favorite wrestler to watch in the 2019 class. doesn't look like he should be a blue chip top recruit by looking at him but he is TOUGH. Think he would kick ass with this staff.
Kharchla - I was in love with him prior to Fargo and then he went out and destroyed the toughest bracket in the whole tourney. He's unreal. I think he is going to be tough to pull away from big 10 country..
Assad - Blew up this summer. VERY tough wrestler. Goes to same high school and is friend's with Gomez. BUT I have a very strong feeling he goes to Iowa..
DeVos - Love his style. Think he sneaky good and with his frame reminds me some of Degen. Would love to add him to the class this year.
Rathjen - A stud, but from what I hear his family bleeds black and gold unfortunately. Granted we have an all Iowa staff, but not sure we can get him if Iowa shows any interest IMO.
Turley - A very solid wrestler who has potential. Haven't watch enough of him (besides his match with Shapiro at Fargo) to make him higher on the list.

What Kharchla did was impressive and now every coach in America is probably buzzing his phone non-stop. He would be a huge addition and have Carr to workout with, but I would guess it's a long shot. That kid is special and going to be really good in folk and Freestyle.
Jesse Vasquez is a stud and unique talent. Not sure his list of schools but I hope ISU is calling him.
Devos still has room to grow and he could benefit a great deal with this room I think and Degen. He is tough and could be a multiple time AA.
Carter Starocci - Stud with room to grow still. Could be a very good 74 or 84 in college.
Chris Foca - wonder if he has been hurt lately? Still going to be a good one. Hope he still plans to come to ISU.

Foca was a double AA at Fargo so not sure why you think he might be hurt. We have a connection with Kharchla through Nate and David Carr from their time in OH. Not sure how much weight it will carry. Coaches could only start talking $ in July (I believe) so you will start seeing some decommitments nationally. Don't have to go any further than Kerkvliet re-opening. I like that the coaches are looking at the elite wrestlers this year as we don't have many immediate needs so it won't set the program back much if we miss on a few this year.

Lets not forget Foca was ranked in the top 6 this last Fall/Winter by Flo as a Jr. A lot of people thought he could be a top 10 p4p or even a top 5 p4p guy in the 2019 class. He got teched at Jr Duals by Alex Cramer of Illinois not long ago. He got 7th at Fargo in Freestyle with 2 losses. I think he will be great still especially when he gets in the room - but he has taken some losses when I thought he would (and should) have been a title contender at Fargo. Now I'm not sure his freestyle experience prior to this year because I didn't know him before he committed to ISU. Maybe he is just better at Folkstyle.

Yes, before Gable committed there.
De-committed to Minnesota and now Oklahoma State. Top 4 Ohio State, Nebraska, Penn State, Oklahoma State now. Still could end up at Ok State. I'd guess Oklahoma State or Nebraska.

- Aug. 1st: First day 2019 seniors can receive financial offers from schools
- Nov. 14th: First day 2019 seniors can sign a national letter of intent

Sounds like he is going to spend his Senior year at the OTC instead of wrestling in Minnesota.

Congrats to his parents for spelling his name jacked up so he has to spell it to everyone every time he does something. No need for that "H" in his name.
