There's always insane turnover in programs anymore, but are these recruits following just Matt Campbell only? And is that what PSU wants is ISU's entire starting roster?
Part of him going to Penn State has to be recruiting and that he can now recruit over all these guys.
Do we think QB Becht, RB Hansen, TE Brahmer, etc. will all be the starters in Happy Valley next season?
I personally don't, but who knows? I think the 2026 roster will be good in Ames, it's more the 2027, 28, 29 rosters that will need to be resolidified by the new HC.
Not necessarily, better development could solve this.

Hopefully I'm wrong, but I think most of the best pieces follow him, or at a minimum, decide to take a spin on the portal and see where things land. In the world of NIL/portal, are there good examples of a coach leaving/being fired where the rosters didn't implode???
Yeah once Coaches get a taste of the NFL life it seems most don't want to go back to the College grind if they have the choice.

I don't know enough about the players personally ofc, but just as a player Carson Hansen is the best of those 3 so interesting he wouldn't follow Campbell.

I'm not joking. It would be nice to not have you two around on gamedays.
On one hand, very polite of CMC to wait until the end of the season to consider another job. On the other hand, it really put us behind the eight ball in regards to finding a replacement. CMC's "no regular season" policy is one that sounds great in practice, but put JP in a tough spot.
Does anyone know anything about Sean Lewis? I've been googling random mid-major coaches and saw he's got Midwest ties, HC experience, and some success. Currently at San Diego State.
I'd be curious if someone like Dave Doeren could be interested in a move; fairly consistent, not a super sexy hire but seems to be grounded and also has some Midwest ties
