Coaching Change

****! I wish we had the same OC, seems like we were starting to gel there a bit. Who makes the calls next?

I'm sick of hearing this line.

Welp, my wife left me for another man, but I guess that's good because I was good enough to attract a female in the first place?

My best employee quit. That somehow means I'm a good employer?
Well Francis has been able to keep all his assistants with the hoks (rexcept 1 that went to a lower level program). That has worked out well.

I’ve posted inside info before that has been laughed at. People like you are why I didn’t want to even In the first place. :)

Maybe it’s the way you post it instead of just coming out with what you have to say? Do you know how many idiots post something cryptic like they know something when they don’t? You sort of just blend in with them with vague postings. It needs a new term like “secret brag” or something.

Yeah... on one hand its not wrong, but on the other hand programs that stay good and keep improving are ones that are able to keep some consistency in staff.

Actually, the ones that stay good still lose a lot of assistants. But their culture is such that they can sustain success despite it.

This will be a good measure of the culture that Campbell is building. When Rhoads had staff changes, he was not able to build high levels of trust with the new guys. And the program eroded from within.

It is what it is. I have a couple of concerns. The only bad part about hiring a coach that brings almost his entire staff is that the coaches don’t have a lot of other connections. The other bad thing is that keeping Campbell long term just got harder.

Honest question, how does this affect Campbell's long term status with ISU?

Well, nobody put a gun to your head and told you to post any information. That one's your choice.

There are two kind of "insiders" on CF outside of the staff. The kind that relish posting bad news because they are either trolls or just sad people that like making others sad. The second kind are the ones who want everyone to slobber their knob because of the secret they shared with us lowly commoners. Neither can have my Bud Light.

Ouch this one would hurt a lot. Campbell having 3 OC in 4 years.. hard to develop an offense.

Really hoping this is just smoke

So we don't even know if this story is true yet, right?

But if it is, who do we go after? What connections does CMC have? Is there anyone currently on staff worthy of being promoted? How Jim Hofher? He's the current Passing Game Coordinator. I'd bet he gets the promotion and will be Offensive Coordinator/QB coach.

If true, good luck to Coach Manning. I do agree, however, that it is important to retain your staff as you are building your program and defining your culture. So, this hurts. It may be a short-term setback.

Coach Manning was the assistant I least wanted to lose. Rebuilding the offensive line is so critical our future success and, as the offensive coordinator, it will take some time for the new coach to earn the trust of the players and vice versa.
