Coach Prohm Gets Extension

As a staff member I’m disappointed that you can’t respect another’s opinion on a fan site. Just because I differ on what I think we should strive for doesn’t make me NOT a fan. You couldn’t be more wrong. You’re in the wrong job.
You ask for respect then tell him he's wrong. LOL.
Why'd you take a 2 year break on posting?

Didn’t read the whole thread but have we seen or heard about contract terms? Is he still the 8th highest paid coach in the Big 12?

Was just thinking the same thing. Thinking the extension had to come with a decent bump. At least I hope it did.

Probably traded years for the salary bump. Steve said it was hard getting his wife to leave Murray. I think she likes to throw down roots.

That's a good question. I don't think I've seen any details of either the Prohm or Fennelly contract and believe both were in the vein of "details later". Think they wanted to get out news for both about the 2025 date for recruiting and so no one thought we a coach set to leave or retire. Also, in Prohms case it was also to send a message to the fans. In one case you had the social media whores on ESPN and such moving Prohm to every job in the SE and for Fennelly you had himself manipulating stuff with his own comments on retiring which I never believed for one second.

Lol! You must not understand much- but that’s okay.....opinions are just that....opinions. Both sides- that might be hard for you to grasp. Which is exactly why I rarely post. I like to have intelligent comments that aren’t based on attacking a person if they are a fan or a troll or a “whatever”. We can all love the Cyclones and have different hopes for the team.

A lot of embarrassing posts in this thread. Pollard gets full credit for costing the university millions to cover Prohm’s contract due to his ill advised extension.

Continuity is good. The way he represents the university is nice. But his main job is to coach. I'm just not convinced he's worth a 6-year extension with what we know. Would've liked to see how we perform next year first.

If we have a roster of Lard, Wigginton, THT, Solo, Jacobsen, Haliburton and Conditt back, the expectation needs to be higher than 23-12 and fifth in Big12. If the university is going to invest in continuity, I'd like to see our coach show continuity in the way our roster plays. Consistent effort, players held accountable in-game, strategic development. He's a high-major recruiter and a high school level strategist. That works at the mid-major level. But in one of the best conferences with lots of great coaches, that's a shaky formula. He needs to improve, and I don't think we needed to commit to such a lengthy thing without getting another season of information. It sounds like SP is a good life coach. But he has a lot of growing to do to become a good game coach.

If those thoughts make me a "hater" and not a concerned fan that hasn't seen in-game ability from a COACH, so be it. I foresee a lot of *dislike* coming but few/no rebuttals.

This has aged quite well unfortunately.
