Absolute nonsense. With our full roster we are a top 10 offense. And 1 loss to AuburnI don’t think this gets talked enough about to be honest. He’s supposedly our offensive guru. But for the most part this season last few seasons our offense has looked like complete garbage as in sets and out of bounds plays. Schmidt is in full control in the huddle when drawing up the offense. I trust TJ with all my soul, but when’s enough enough for certain assistants? I’m not even trying to start ****, but it’s a valid question and discussion.
We are still top 25 offense per kenpom so not bad.
How often does a team make it through a season with a full roster? Need to be able to adapt and make adjustmentsAbsolute nonsense. With our full roster we are a top 10 offense. And 1 loss to Auburn
Ok coach K. We almost beat a top 5 Houston team with top 2 scorers out! Not like they haven’t made adjustments. Guys were just off tonight good grief people get a grip. Let’s fire coaches that makes senseHow often does a team make it through a season with a full roster? Need to be able to adapt and make adjustments
Most the time. Who can you think of being out a long time besides Hali for the 2nd half of the season? Niang NCAA broken foot? If it was just CuJo 1 game and Keshon 2 games you'd have a point. This isn't foosball. How often does a team make it through a season with a full roster? Need to be able to adapt and make adjustments
Does anybody know if any of the analytic sites have a momentum metric or something to show a team’s trend? We were playing like a final four contender until the very beginning of big 12 play, but since then I would bet we are kind of middle of the road.I know the analytics are still good but the difference between our highs and lows feels unacceptable. Also dipping defensively doesn’t give us the wiggle room to struggle on offense. We have the Gilbert excuse which is legit, but against OSU maybe not so much.
You should definitely email TJ and let him know you have their offensive “problems” figured out and maybe he will fire Schmidt and hire youThere isn't enough movement off the ball, tj says this constantly. But it never has changed. It's all ball screen and kick. We don't really play matchups a ton, some but not much other than whatever we get off the ball screen. Results in a lot of standing from 2 guys. Don't really run many sets when we need a hoop. Our actions are really common and vanilla. Just really easy to guard as the season goes on.
It is what it is. Not going to change.
There is, but they don't matter. KSU was #1 in the country in their run, and we were like top 5 full strength after Milan came back. Couldn't tell you how to find it though, just reporting what I read.Does anybody know if any of the analytic sites have a momentum metric or something to show a team’s trend? No question about it that our offensive kenpom numbers have been on the slide last few weeks from top 10 to top 25.That's a full season metric though.
I don't have kenpom sub so I don't know if you can look up the same there, but if you look at Torvik since the Arizona game, we're playing like the #43 team (so basically a bubble team on that stretch) and playing like the #76 rated offense. TO%? 344. Atrocious.
We’re a Sweet 16 team. Again. This game was painful because it was a combination of the small things that win close games, that we didn't do and aren't coaches. Like:
Sure coaches matter, but at some point the players have to make plays and execute. Other crazy stats that indicate we were lethargic all night:
- 12-20 from free throws, plus a couple were front-ends.
- We committed 18 turnovers and something like 7 on our first 10 possessions. Jefferson had 7.
- I believe we gave up 10 offensive rebounds in the first half.
The reality, this is a 6-6 team since the WVU loss. But I agree with the OP that opposing teams have figured a way to defend against our dribble dominant offense, where much of the scoring action initiates around the top of the key.
- Points off turnovers: OSU 24 vs. ISU 10
- Fast break points: OSU 22 vs. ISU 9
- Paint Points: OSU 36 vs. ISU 28 (it was OSU 18 vs. ISU 6 in the 1st Half.
People like you that stifle conversation with doosh takes are the absolute worst. Crawl back into your miserable holeYou should definitely email TJ and let him know you have their offensive “problems” figured out and maybe he will fire Schmidt and hire you
We did but that was Saturday. Tonight, we had the same effort as we did against K State. It’s less about adjustments and more about effort which is what is supposed to be the culture of this team.Ok coach K. We almost beat a top 5 Houston team with top 2 scorers out!
