I think had he made that last shot they would have reviewed and determined there was still 0.1 or 0.2 seconds left. thus, let's be happy he missed
I'm pretty sure the time clock operator was flicking the time off and on and it just stayed off longer than they intended at 4.3 seconds. It would be interesting to see how much time was used using a stopwatch from the point of inbounds. So glad they missed the shot but it could be unfair for others in future games.
I timed the sequence 20 times from the Lane Danielson video. The video has 9.4 seconds on the clock that turns to 9.3 seconds after 1 frame of video. The video appeared to be running at 3 fps. So, I'll call it 9.33 seconds left on the clock. When timing, my minimum was 9.78 and my maximum was 9.92. I hit exactly 9.85 seconds five of the last six times I timed it. Averaging the min and the max I also land right at 9.85. So, I think the clock operator gifted an extra 0.5 seconds to the home team, based on Lane's video. Going frame by frame, the final shot was out of his hands at 0.6 seconds.
This is dedication.
