Our chief value as "fans" to ISU is as a revenue source: urged to buy tickets, to join the Cyclone Club and if already a member to increase our giving, subscribe to conference TV packages, etc. We aren't part of the team, we're spectators. Paying money, for a product.
So with increased $$ that we're paying out to watch the product, we're going to get impatient more than before. This is true at every school.

So the fanbase that donates the 10th most money in the league expects 4-5th place finishes on a consistent basis in the world of NIL.

Do we just root for 10th place finishes then or how does being a good fan work?

No. But the idea that we now have to pay more for season tickets and therefore we can be impatient rings a bit hollow.

Just a heads up that donations and the world of NIL are pretty different.

Yeah. Because those people that don’t donate to the university are going to shell out 10K for a top ranked recruit..

I hope so, I really cant see much enthusiasm for next year if this continues for the next month.

I disagreed because I think this and other recent threads are an indication of not only frustration and disappointment, but a belief that it can be better. Even this idiotic thread is 27 pages! Last year not just enthusiasm, but hope, even interest, were non-existent.

Only complete morons wanted CMC gone.. Thats stupid. TJ inherited a garbage team plain and simple.

Yes, and the newness and unexpected fast start has worn off. But there was a reason and not just coaching strategy that we were 2-22 last season. Long ways away from a desirable, complete roster. I think we need to also keep reminding ourselves how many teams took advantage of the transfer portal. Its not like TJ just had the pick of who he wanted coming off that lowly record, even with dangling playing time.

I've thought about re-upping this, precisely for this. I get that we're passionate and have somewhat over-shown-up for the product on the field/court, but it is what it is.

If we lose our, "ride or die, no matter the results", I think we're deluded about what we have to offer.

Come on, man! People can still want TJ, but have rational even well thought out questions about his ability to make in-game adjustments at the Big 12 level.

He’s brought a ton of excitement and toughness back to the program, but he’s coaching in one of the best Bball conferences. Not an easy deal for anyone. He deserves time to build his roster and player pipeline, but even with a strung together lineup, he’s been out-coached in B12 play especially since they’ve had a time to see this team at least once through.
They haven't looked tough in weeks. They look like the teams from '19-'21

Were donations higher when Fred and Steve were doing well?

But as you can see by NET ISUs non con sucks because the bad teams were really bad. It’s a stupid weakness of KenPom that playing a bunch of teams in the 200s that still suck and a good team will beat dramatically improves your SOS. Of course that is stupid, as there is pretty much no practical difference. That is one benefit of breaking s things down in quads.

ISU was actually very good even thorough with he first few conference games. Pretty much nobody on here believed they were one of the best 10-15 teams in the country. We knew the resume suggested it but knew the Big 12 and offensive struggles would catch up. Not this hard, though.

Fortunately TJ has already acknowledged this. Next years non con is going to look different compared to this year. I'm not saying it will be stacked but it will be much more reginal and not filled with a bunch of bottom of the barrel SWAC teams.
