I demand them to make my malt with Vanilla and syrup. Also, always with butterfingers mixed in.I’ve noticed a disturbing trend the last few years where I order a chocolate malt and they make it with chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. The chocolate in the ice cream overwhelms the malted powder and while good, it doesn’t have the proper balance of flavors.
This can no longer be tolerated. I would encourage you all to demand your confectioner use vanilla ice cream when venturing out to enjoy a chocolate malt.
get my name OUT YO' MOUTHBut...malted milk balls...yeah, baby.
Just ask Coach Hines.
so, the rigid ones are more pleasurable for you? While we’re talking malts. Can we all agree that any ice cream shop that gives you the standard diameter straw like what is used for fountain soda should be shut down by some sort of government agency? Shakes and malts must be served with those wide diameter straws. And they must be rigid. You can’t drink a proper malt with one of those paper straws.

Culver's hot fudge malt is my favorite ice cream treat.Hot Fudge malts are the only way to go when you want chocolate.
I don't eat chocolate malts but I will say this is the first thing I thought of when I saw the title because Mrs. Velo is dying alongside you on this hill. Who in their right mind makes ANY malt with anything other than vanilla ice cream?I’ve noticed a disturbing trend the last few years where I order a chocolate malt and they make it with chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. I gave Mrs. Velo a hard time when she bought one of those hand held blender things, but damn if they don't blend up a quick shake/malt with much less clean up.I bet it has been decades since I had a shake or a malt. Do remember, like 60 years ago, when the parental units got a blender and it was shakes/malts on tap at home. Was a seriously big deal. Decadent luxury in that tiny old kitchen.
Chick Fil A is offering a limited edition peach milk shake if the chocolate malt becomes too toxic. I probably would prefer a peach summer pie, or a cold slice of delicious ripe watermelon.
Chocolate shakes are a complete waste of time, money, and calories.
Chocolate malts are the only way to go. I think Culver’s actually makes a pretty good chocolate malt. And yes…. you MUST use vanilla ice cream and syrup, not chocolate ice cream.
