Chicago Roll Call

Crappy thing about ISU being the 2nd/late game is that you're already behind the mass if you would happen to wait to go Sunday given Michigan/Bama fans would have early jump knowing result. Bama wins, maybe wouldn't be as high or likely a fight for price vs Michigan though.

I think if Bama won tickets would drop significantly.

Any idea what hotel team will be at?

9:10PM tip is such a pain in the ass. I'll be there, but trying to figure out if we stay in the city or just drive back to Madison after the game. Really don't want to be rolling back home at 2pm or later, but not that excited about paying a couple hundred bucks to not get back to hotel room until after midnight anyways.
Sometimes when I'm going to a concert out of town, instead of staying there, I'll drive towards home an hour or so out of the city and get lodging. Usually a bit less expensive and you're out of the city next morning for the drive home (less traffic). Plus you're an hour closer to home.

I'm heading over for FRI. Just gotta work on tickets between now and then. It's tempting to wait until last minute of the first game and see what happens, I'm not attached to attending Mich/Bama.

The tickets don't allow re-entry so inventory might be pretty sold out by then or mostly scammers. It's not like you can reuse a ticket from a Michigan fan leaving after the first game. But definitely you'll see some action after the first game tips off from someone who's desperate to unload.

I’m local as well, is there any meet up there?
Bret Blum mentioned something on the pod yesterday about doing an event with the ISUAA which has their game watches at Murphy's Bleachers. Not sure what the plan is this year with it being Cubs opening weekend.

I was at the Sweet 16 when ISU lost to Virginia @ Chicago in 2016, so I am staying away! My fault, I was sitting in seats I bought through Gonzaga (who also lost to Syracuse). Let's Go State!
My wife and I were at that game as well. But this year we are now 8-0 in games we've attended, including STL. So we are going, just gonna sit in a different section. We're going to 10-0!!!

See all there, going to stay at river north/mag mi at Hilton Garden Inn on E Grand. Reasonable, park car and taxi. Ready for a Great Cyclone Victory!!!!!!!!!

Edit: Wife reminded me of lunch at Hackney's on Harms on Saturday, fortunately have in/out on parking!

I'm on a 10-0 roll myself - including 4-0 this year. Not messing with that! :)

We will do Portillo's, THX, but Hackneys is a family tradition for over 40 years. but portillos might be on the agenda when we get back downtown.

Edit: we do Portillos in Champaign/Urbana when we travel to east coast driving! Wife is U of Illini alum, but I have converted her LOL. She also got her doctorate from Oklahoma, but the exorcism was not difficult!
